Chapter 57

Jude's POV

Everyone takes there seats for dinner. I sit next to Connor and Donald sits on the other side of me. Momma and Gram start to bring in the food.

"Help yourselves," says Momma. "There's enough to go around."

Everyone starts reaching for food. Everyone talks, laughs, and eats.

"Now I see why this turkey would make such a great prize," says Jeremy, after taking a bite of the turkey.

"Lena and I make a mean turkey," says Gram.

Everyone eats and talk some more. After a while, Momma make an announcement.

"Listen up," she says. "Now, we're all going to go around and say what we're thankful for. "

Everyone goes around and starts saying what they're thankful for. Lena and Stef say they're thankful for all of us and how far we've come with gay rights in the last year. Mike, Dana, Sharon, and Stewart pretty much just say they're thankful for family. Brandon says he's thankful we could all be together for the holidays. Jesus say he's thankful he got to come home for the holidays. And Mariana says she's happy we all get to spend time together. Finally, it comes to me.

"Let's see," I say. "I'm thankful that I get to be part of this amazing family, that you guys were willing to adopt me. And I'm happy I get to be part of such an accepting family, and that I have an amazing boyfriend."

"I am thankful that I have Jude," says Connor. "My amazing boyfriend, the boy who made me realize why girls didn't seem attractive. And I'm thankful that my dad finally accepts me for me."

"I'm thankful that I have a son that is proud of who he is," says Adam. "He's not afraid to tell people who he is. I'm proud of you Connor." Connor looks at his dad and smiles.

"I'm also thankful that my son is proud of who he is," says Donald. "And I'm also thankful that I am able to spend Thanksgiving with him and his wonderful family, friends, and boyfriend."

"Looks like I'm last," says Jeremy. "I'm thankful that I met Jude and Connor and that they helped me realize who I am. And I'm thankful that Mike was willing to take me in when no one else from my family was."

"Very nice," says Mom. "Now, how bout some dessert?" Momma and Gram bring out the lies we made earlier. We all try our own pie and the other teams. Both pies are really good.

"Well I better get going," says Donald, after we'd all finished eating and had cleaned up the dining room. "I had a lot of fun tonight. I haven't had a Thanksgiving dinner like that in a long time."

"I'm glad you joined us Dad," I say. I see Donald smile after calling him that.

"I'm glad a joined, too. I'll talk to you guys later. Bye."

"Bye," everyone says.

After Donald left, everyone went upstairs and got ready for bed. Once we were all ready, Connor, Jeremy, Jesus, and I sat on the floor and talked.

"I had a lot of fun this week," says Jeremy

"So did I," says Connor.

"And we totally beat you guys," I say to Jesus. "You have been defeated!"

"Yeah," says Jesus. "Well wait till next year. I will take you down!"

"Boys," yells Stef. "Go to sleep!"

"Ok," I yell. "Night guys."

"Night," says Jesus.

"Night," says Jeremy.

"Night," says Connor. "And Happy Thanksgiving."
