Chapter 40

Connor's POV

"Hey Jude," I yell as I see him walk walk onto the beach. "Over here!"

My dad and I got here a little earlier to try to find good spots to watch the fireworks. It always gets so crowded. We got a spot right near the water and set up a couple blankets to sit on.

"Hey," says Jude, giving me a quick kiss. "What's up?"

"Not much," I say. "What's up with you?"

"Not much. Love the spots."

"Thought you would."

"Hey Connor," says Lena.

"Hey Mrs. Adams Foster," I say.

"Please Connor. How many times have I told you to call me Lena."

"Right. Sorry."

"Don't apologize."

"Sorry. Dang it!"

"Haha. Well I better go help Stef bring the food."

Lena walks off, leaving me and Jude. We sit down, and everyone else starts to come.

"Connor? Jude," we here someone say from behind us. We turn around and see Taylor.

"Hey Taylor," I say. "Long time no see."

"Yeah. How was camp?"

"Good," says Jude. "You know the last time I saw fireworks was at camp and they were set up by... You!"

"That's right! Did you like them?"

"Loved them!"

"Good. Can I sit with you guys?"

"Yeah sure," I say.

"Hey Jude," says my dad. "Hey Taylor."

"Hey Mr. Stevens," says Taylor.

"Hey Adam," says Jude.

"You ready for the fireworks," asks my dad.

"Yeah," I say. "They're my favorite part of the 4th of July."

"Hey Connor," I hear Mariana say. I see her and the rest of Jude's family walking towards us.

"Hey Connor," says Brandon. "Sorry I couldn't go to the beach with you guys last week. I had a piece to work on for camp. Kat can be such a..."

"Language," says Stef.

"Thank you Captain America," says Brandon.

"Who's hungry," asks Lena. "We've got hot dogs, sandwiches, chips, and cookies. But I don't recommend starting with the cookies."

Everyone grabs some food and start eating. We all eat and talk for a while, until we hear a voice from the speakers telling us to rise for the National Anthem. Once that's done we sit down, and the fireworks start.

This years fireworks are the best I've seen of all the fireworks they've done before for the 4th of July. I don't know if it's the fireworks themselves, the spots we got, or the fact that my wonderful boyfriend is sitting right beside me, making the fireworks seem brighter.

Once the fireworks end, we start packing up. Jude and I say good by to Taylor, and start walking towards his car.

"Guess what," I ask.

"Another surprise sleepover," says Jude.

"Your catching on." We get into the car and drive to Jude's house.

Once we get there, we change into our pajamas and set up in the living room. Lena thought it would be a good idea to sleep there instead of my room with Jesus.

We take some pillows and blankets and put them on the couch. I lay down on the couch, and Jude lays on the other side.

"Move your feet," he says. "They're in my face."

"Yeah well your feet are in my face," I say.

"Fair enough."

"This has been the best 4th of July ever."

"Why is that?"

"Because I got to spend it with you."

Yay I updated! THE EPISODE!!! So good! Seeing Connor cry broke my heart tho! Can't wait for next weeks episode! Hope you guys liked the chapter!
