Jude's POV
After my last class I meet Connor at his locker. We're supposed to go back to my house and do homework.
"Hey Connor," I say when I reach his locker.
"Hey," he says. "Let me get the rest of my stuff and we can leave."
I see he's having a hard time getting his backpack out of his locker.
"Let me help you," I say.
"Thanks," he says, moving away from his locker. I take out his backpack and put his stuff in it. Then he puts down his crutches and I put his backpack on his back. He picks up his crutches and starts walking. Or hopping.
"Mariana and Jesus are coming home tonight," I say.
"That's great," says Connor. "Does that mean your going to tell the family about," he stops and then whispers, "us."
"Yeah at dinner. You want to stay for dinner.
"Sure."
As we turn the corner Daria walks towards us. She keeps walking towards us, backing us into a corner.
"Hello boys," she says, a sly smile plastered across her face. "I have a little deal to make with you."
"Whatever deal it is, we don't want to make," I say.
"You may want to hear me out first," she says. "You see after I left, I thought I may have forgotten something. I came back to make sure I didn't, and I heard you guys talking to Taylor."
"How much did you hear," asks Connor.
"Everything," she says. "Don't worry, I won't tell. That is, if Connor goes out with me."
"Why do you want him if he doesn't even like you," I ask.
"He may not want me, but I definitely want him," she says biting her bottoms lip.
"Ew," I say, trying not to throw up. Connor just stands there silently.
"So, do we have a deal," asks Daria. Neither of us say anything. "I'll give you to some time to think it over. Meet me at the bench tomorrow and tell me your answer." Then, she walks off.
