I watched as she pulled the spike from his chest and he collapsed into the snow his own warm blood pooling around him "no no no no kamini...brother!!" I crawled over to my older brother clawing at the snow and pulling him into my lap

My hand covered his wound while I frantically tried to heal him "no no NO FUCKING HEAL HIM!!! FUCK!!" My magic wasn't strong enough still, I heard kaiyas wicked laughs as she watched my brother bleed out "my this is far more entertaining than I expected..you still can't use your powers heh~" I grit my teeth at her words but looked down when I felt a warm hand on my cheek "..ka..nni..." I held my brothers hand close

"...bubba..I can't heal you...I'm sorry" he shook his head and held a faint smile "..I said...I'd..pro..tect you...right?..." "Kamini don't finish that sentence I forbid you to!" He went to laugh but only coughed as more blood gushed out of his wound, I tried to stop the bleeding more but he kept pushing my hand away "I..protected...you..I did...what I cou..ldn't..what...dad..couldn't.." tears streamed down my face as his breathing slowed

He gripped my hand and with his last dying breath he spoke "...don't forget me...keep fighting phoenix" he gave me a strong and determined look before his eyes closed and his heart stopped beating "tch is he dead yet? You don't live fifteen minutes with a hole in your chest ya know" kiaya spoke unsympathetically while I still held my brothers lifeless body in my arms

I kissed his forehead and set him down gently "...My name is kanni amai takashi.." I stood up and picked up my brothers sword as well as my own "oh? What was that little bird?" I stood up straight with my head down "I am guardian of tatara and earth...I AM A PHOENIX DAUGHTER OF THE SUN!" I held my sword up pointed at her "and you will rue the day you chose to cross me" her face went from on of confidence to fear

Flames and smoke followed my trail as I ran at high speed at her and attacked with both swords she held her sword up to block my blades, I swung around and kicked her with full force throwing her to the edge of the mountain top. I threw a burst of white flames at her barely giving her time to react "Aaah!!" She screamed as my flames burned her, I walk out of a cloud of smoke and steam red tattoos covering my body and black horns with red tips emerged from the top of my head my eyes red and teeth sharper than before

"You will die by my hand witch!" A wall of ice barrels towards me and without blinking the ice is cut in pieces like it was nothing "aah!! M-monster!! You freak I'll kill you!!" I paused at her words "monster? Oh no no darling you want to see a monster? I'll show you a monster" "What about your child huh!? Your child still sits at the entrance of the cave!!" I look over the the black and red egg the back to kaiya "they will be fine they cannot get in my way..as for you" I stabbed my swords in the ground at the same time

Flames blowing from around me creating a vortex into the sky. Bright orange and yellow wings blew out the rest of the flames to reveal a giant flaming bird with bright yellow eyes that could easily be mistaken for white, beautiful peacock like feathers only smaller. The sky turned dark as the Phoenix screeched loudly and turned to look at kaiya below her

"Th-the phoenix..." Kaiya had to jump out of the way of giant feet and blasts of blue flames she sent spikes of ice and many illusions towards the phoenix but none did anything "YOU THINK BECAUSE YOU HAVE SOME MIGHTY FORM YOUR INVINCIBLE!? NO ONE IS IMMUNE TO MY MIND SPELLS NOT EVEN A GOD LIKE YOU!!" Kaiya sent walls of ice towards the phoenix only for them to melt in the blue flames

Kaiya stood on a high pillar and looked the phoenix in the eye "I see right through that rage motivated mask you hide behind...deep down your still that scared child" vision went blurry as she stumbled but recovered as soon as she heard a familiar voice "KANNI!!"
