Emma's POV....

Sitting on the sofa with DJ and Charlie watching Batman , I began to doze off . The last couple of weeks have been so draining for me that , it takes a lot of effort to actually do stuff lately .

I get woke up by a little dude kissing my face .

"Mommy ,  wake up silly your missing Batman " Dj laughs .

" Sorry buddy , mammy is just so tired " I sigh , sitting up fully on the sofa .

"You should have let me have sleepover in Mr Marshall's house he would have watched Batman with me " He said folding his arms over his chest .

" Buddy you can't always have sleepovers there , and anyways Charlie is here and he's watching Batman with you " I smile .

" I don't like Charlie, I like mr Marshall " he shouted .

I looked at Charlie and I could see the disappointment in his face he sat back on the couch and sighed .

" Dylan James Mathews , you don't say things like that ever !! Now apologise so Charlie now before I call uncle Jack and he gives you a bold talk " I say .

" No mommy , i call uncle Jack and he give out to you cause you being bold shouting at me .  He don't like Charlie too . I wanna go to bed " he screamed kicking the coffee table .

" DJ , I'm so sad that your behaving like this it's not very nice . I will put you to bed but you will think about how bold you are being and you will apologise to Charlie tomorrow " I sigh .

" No " he shouted running up the stairs .

" I'm so sorry Charlie, I don't know what's came over him . Just let me get him to bed and il right back " I give him a small smile and follow DJ upstairs.

I felt so embarrassed, I can't believe how DJ is acting it's so out of character. There is silence in the room as I get him to dressed into his pjs.
He hops into bed and looks at me .

" I didn't mean to make you sad mommy " he says .

" Why don't you like Charlie buddy ? Did something happen ? " I ask .

" He doesn't play with me and when I tried to give him a hug when you were napping he wouldn't let me mommy and mr Marshall always hugs me and let's me sit on his lap watching Batman . Charlie's not nice he don't like me " he cry's .

" Awh buddy I'm sorry , I'm sure Charlie does like you . But he doesn't have kids so this is new to him he doesn't know what to do . See Marshall has the girls so he knows that kids like playing and hugs . " I sigh .

" Oh okay mommy , I'm sorry to Charlie . I love you and I don't want you sad at me ." He whispers.

" I love you to buddy , so much . Il tell Charlie you said sorry okay . Now get some sleep you have school tomorrow . Lainey and Hailie is going to pick you up " I smile .

" Yay , night mommy " he smiles closing his eyes .

" Night buddy " I say kissing him on the head and leaving his room .
 
When I got down stairs I took a seat next to Charlie .

" Look , I'm so sorry about DJ and he told me to say sorry to you . He didn't understand why you wouldn't give him a hug when he tried to hug you and that upset him . No one has turned down one of his hugs before and he thinks it's cause you don't like him " I say .

"Emma , it's not that I don't like him . I don't know how to deal with all this . I thought I could do it but it turns out I can't . Every time we hang out your to tired to go anywhere, so we just sit here and watch tv and I know when this baby comes along you definitely will be exhausted that there will be no time to work on us "  He sighs.

" I'm sorry that I'm always tired but I'm really trying here , between work and spending time with DJ before this baby comes takes a lot out of me I can't seem to find a balance right now . "  I say .

"Don't apologise please . Look I knew what this was when I didn't jump ship a couple of months ago , but I think we would be better of as friends . Don't get me wrong it's not that I don't find you attractive, cause I definitely do your freaking hot ." He laughs .

"Thanks for the complaint, means a lot considering I look like a whale right now . Charlie I'm sorry that didn't this work out between us , your an amazing guy . But I think your right we're definitely better of as friends and I hope we can be cause I really like your company and I'd love to be able to grab a coffee or lunch and just catch up " I smile .

" I'm totally down for that , we will stay in touch that's for sure .  I'm going to head home , but if you need anything or a just wanna hang give me a call . " he says getting up of the sofa .

" Great I totally will , maybe after august we can have a night out and il be your wing women, well that's if your not seeing anyone by then " I laugh getting up and following him to the door .

"  Hey I don't need a wing women , I'm well able to get girls by myself and anyways I don't think Marshall would be to happy "  He laughed .

" What you mean ? Marshall has no say in what I do with personal life " I smile .

" Yeah okay Emma , the two of you need to pull your heads out of the sky and realise your both crazy about each other and don't even try to deny it iv seen how you look at each other and any chance you guys get to touch one another ye take it " He smirked .

"Well mr , you have that wrong ." I mumble .

" Yeah sure i do "  He laughs , rolling his eyes .

" You do , now I thought you were heading home ?" I smile .

" I am , but before I go . Let's make a bet , $100 that you and Marshall will be together before this baby comes " He smirks .

"Be prepared to loose a hundred bucks my friend cause that won't happen , now get going before I have to kick you out " I laugh opening the front door .

" Il send you my bank details so you can send me that $100 . Cya later Emma , keep in touch" He says hugging me and walking out the door .

" Bye Charlie " I shout and close the door behind me .

That went better than I expected, Charlie was a great guy and I'm happy that we can still be friends , but if you think about it we weren't really in a relationship the most we did was make out and that wasn't very much often at all .
I cleaned up the snacks and drinks from the coffee table and headed to bed even though it was only 9pm I was wrecked .  Just as I was about to turn off my table lamp my phone beeped .

From Marshall - Em , what time is the doc appointment tomorrow ?.. hope your feeling okay !! .

To Marshall - Hey, it's at 3.45pm , the only one I could get . Are you coming ? We're able to find out the gender tomorrow !! Lainey and Hailie offered to pick DJ up for me and bring him for ice cream .  I'm okay just tired it was a long evening .

From Marshall - Shit !! I have a meeting with Paul and jimmy at 2.30pm and I can't cancel it . Look il try my best to get there , if not il meet you afterwards and you can tell me all about it . Is that okay ?.. what happened this evening ? .

To Marshall - Yes that's fine , I was thinking you were joining the meeting alright . You can stop by when I'm home I won't be going back to the office .. do you want to know the gender ? .

From Marshall - Yo thanks for understanding, you know I would be there if I could . Il come over when your home . Yeah find out , I can't wait to know !! ;) .

To Marshall - perfect sounds like a plan . The winking face Marshall seriously ? .

From Marshall - ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) .. il cya tomorrow morning, I gotta go me and Nate promised the girls Taco Bell . Good night Emma .
