Sunny days were the best if you were up for the beach.

And today I was, I yanked Nina out of bed.

We were sitting on the beach, while Nina complained that the heat was unbearable.

Drama queen.

Thats why I love her.

"Honestly, why me? I was enjoying dreaming of Chord Overstreet proposing to me in Cabo!" Nina grunted, I snorted.

"Chord is hot, but I brought you somewhere hotter." I winked, Nina groaned.

"Seriously Shay!" I rolled my eyes.

"I woke you up at ten." I say.

"Thats early, its summer!" She pouted.

"Its summer." I mimicked. "If its summer we should be enjoying it, not sitting in our rooms!"

"Well maybe I wanted to help Scar with the gardening!"

I gave her a look.

"Gardening? Do you remember those roses we planted. They died because you never watered them and you said you thought that make their own water." I say sarcastically.

"I'm not good at bio!"

"No kidding." I muttered.

"What crawled up your ass and died?" Nina huffed.

"Your attitude.'

"Your so rude." she said shooting me daggers.

"Well your whiny." I snapped, we were bickering like children, but we always did and we wouldn't stop unless necessary.

We were both stubborn.

"Maybe if you didn't squirt me with a water gun to get me up, I would be chirpier." She seethed.

"You sleep like a dead-"

"Woah ladies. Chill." Keegs said eating a snowcone.
We looked up, both our faces red from the heat and our squabble.

"She started it!" We both said in unison like four year olds.

"And I'm the freshman? I may be younger but I'm so much smarter." He muttered licking his snow cone.

I rolled my eyes.
"Can we go into the ocean now?" I whined.
"I want to tan." Nina said snobbily.
"Fine I'm going." I huff.
"Tatata." said Nina annoyingly. We both weren't really mad at each other we just both didn't want to give in.

"Hey wait up!" Keegs ran down the sand to me.

I slowed down. "I wanted to ask you something.."

I nodded for him to continue.

"Troy seems to be in a really good mood lately..." I shrug.

"I can't help think its because of you." I stare at him.

"Oh come one Shay, ever since he hangs out with or he has seen you. Its like all the gloom and doom Troy has gone and the real Troy is back." Keegs says sucking the cone. Ew.

"Gloom and doom?" I questioned.

"This year has been hell. With uni applications, mom taking another job and a stressed out Troy, everyone was miserable. But now summer is here, mom is making ends meet with Scar and Troy has got into Stanford. It's like normal again and you brought that out." He says.
