......
I ended up taking Troy to the north of Boston, I had a clear surprise in mind.
"Where are we going?" Troy whined for the fifth time in the car.
"It's a surprise." I winked to annoy him, he groaned. He hated surprises, he like to be in control of well everything.
Well tough luck buddy, when Shay wants to surprise you, she will, I repeat surprise you.
"At least give me a hint?" Troy was using the puppy dog eyes, that was a felony in itself!
"You cant do that! I am an independent woman I will not give into your eyes!" I say victoriously, I probably sounded like a mad lawyer on heroine.
It was weird this banter, this happiness, it just seemed too good, I was waiting for the fall that never came. It's like the perfect summer I had pictured, was beginning now.
Troy laughs at my response and decides to shut his mouth. I see him admiring the Boston scenery, I know he always thought of Boston as a very historical place, he would lecture me endlessly about the Boston Tea Party.
He was a nerd, a hot one, but a nerd nonetheless.
So when I pulled up to an empty warehouse, the follow up question was inevitable.
"Er are we making a stop?" Troy said confused.
"Nope. Follow me." I say getting out of the car.
"This is just an old warhouse!" Troy was very frustrated now it was almost comical.
"Oh come on." I rolled my eyes and led him inside.
I led him to a room, this place was abandoned.
"What-" Troy starts.
"We are in a 1970 Picture House, ever since the raging seventies came, watching films in picture houses was all anyone talked about. Picture houses were where old hollywood began." I explained, Troy nodded.
"You know how obsessed with vintage films I am right? Last year I found this gem, when an old woman told me about it. Its abandoned, but all the projector equipment works. This could be your own cinema." I say, Troy seems mesmerised by my words.
There are rows of old beat up seats lined across, I tell him to sit down.
"The problem is it only plays reels, which are impossible to find or buy here unless you go to a vintage cinema. So I kept thinking what more?" I build up my intense speech. Troy swats the dust from the seats.
"Each projector contains photovoltaic cells which give a luminous effect. Marilyn Monroe when she wanted to feel the stars used her projector to bring the night home." I had officially lost Troy.
"Prepare to be amazed." I say.
I turn off the lights, Troy protests which is cut off shortly when I turn the projector on.
By switching around a few nobs and using the illusion of the cells, a sky full of stars appeared. All the constellations had lit the room, like we were under a blanket of stars.
Just like that night in the Summer House.
Troy was quiet, I couldn't see his face that well.
"Pretty neat huh? Sometimes when I want to think or paint I come here under the stars." I say.
And then out of nowhere, Troy pulls me close and kisses me like I belong in an old hollywood movie. His lips soft full of passion and awe. He acted like he was Edward Cullen drinking blood, he really kissed me.
And I loved every second of it.
I was floating with the stars.
When we stopped to breathe, forehead on forehead under the stars, Troy says, "You are really something Shay."
"I'll take that as a good thing." I smile.
"You take that as the best thing." He laughed.
"Were you thoroughly amazed?" I laugh.
"I was mindblown, I was dumbstuck, I was stupified-" I interrupt him.
"Okay I get it!" I snort.
"I am truly honoured to have you in my life Shay Richards." Troy says stroking my hair.
My heart melts like chocolate on a hot day.
"Same here Duke." I respond.
Our moment is cut with Troy's mobile ringing.
He was about to cut it, but then he saw it was his mom calling. His mom never calls, shes too busy too!
Troy picks it up, I hear rushed and panicked voices, my heartbeat quickens.
Troy snaps his phone shut.
"Troy?" I ask, he looks away, the stars casting shadows on his face.
"Scar collapsed, she's been taken to hospital." Troy says darkly.
And just like that, my starry day full of light came falling down.
..........
Drama! Scar:(
I won't update until saturday for the next one so yeah!
