'I can't have you, No matter how much I want you.' Those words kept replaying in my head since yesterday.
I was speechless, he liked me. Why was that a problem?
He deserved everything, why not me?
I was confused, knowing Troy he probably regrets telling me all of that. And going to be awkward he's going to avoid me rather than act on his feelings.
Why?
I was more confused as time went by. I hadn't told Nina, I was too scared of my emotions to open the floodgates and actually think about the fact that he won't let us be together.
A victory for him actually liking me, a failure in the actual execution. That's when I realised it is the execution that matters.
I was angry and frustrated nothing was ever simple with Troy.
I sat on the beach, it was cooler today, with a chilly breeze and a high tide, there were fewer people on the beach.
It was almost a void of serenity.
"Shay?" I hear a masculine voice behind me, I peer behind and see it's Luke.
I give him a weak smile, he plops down next to me.
"You seem to have a lot on your mind."
"Is it that obvious?" I sigh.
"I called your name twice it was like you were on another planet." He chuckles.
"What would you do if you liked a girl?" I blurt out.
He looks at me.
"Boy trouble?" He smirks.
"Kinda." I mutter.
"And here I thought you liked me." He says.
"I uh I'm sorry I'm not-" I ramble.
"Shay, I was kidding!" He smirks and I punch him on the shoulder.
"Jerk." I huff.
"I actually like your friend if she will give me the time of day. And you're a bud, anyway this boy-" He says boldly.
"Wait Nina, you like Nina?" I say.
"Yeah I hung out with her at the mall, she was pretty cool." He said.
She had some explaining to do.
"She didn't seem into me though." He says in a weak tone.
"Oh no! She probably thinks I like you because I said we had a good time at the movies and is sacrificing potential love for me!" I exclaim.
"That's a little dramatic." Luke laughs.
"Thats Nina." I huff, she is such an idiot sometimes.
"So this boy?" He questions.
"Same ole story, likes the girl won't do anything about it." I click my fingers mocking the entire situation.
"Why is that?"
"Says he doesn't deserve her." I try to keep my name out of this so called tale, even though it was obviously me, I wanted to pretend that this couldn't be real, Troy couldn't actually like me and then leave me without trying.
