Fall swung by so quickly, that I was flustered to see people changing into winter coats and beanies. Snow had hit Boston like a bad itch, and roads were blocked everyday.
I was just adapting to the chilly change by warming myself up with Hazelnut Hot Chocolate. Good stuff.
I was waiting outside the library with my hot chocolate for Nina she had told me she needed help for some Psych test.
When Nina finally arrived bundled up in her scarf and coat, we took refuge in the warm library.
"Damn its cold." Nina said unwrapping her scarf.
We sat down and I quizzed Nina on psych using cue cards, we were halfway through, when Nina said she needed a stretch break. I decided to stay and read, whilst she ran across the street to get a coffee.
Troy had been calling me everyday, it was routine, he had also spent everyday explaining math equations, which I secretly thought was the sweetest thing ever. He was in uni now and had work, but he still helped me.
Still wanted me, for now.
I decided to take a look at the astronomy section. As I muddled through constellations and meteorites, I found comfort in a book about shooting stars. I was in dire need of one.
Nina came back with her coffee armed with pretzels. We finished her psych work.
Days were mundane and things fell into place as normal, it wasn't adventurous like the summer house, but just normal. And thats why I wanted summer again, thats why I would wait like a lost puppy to drive back to Rhode Island.
Mom had returned as Scar's health stabilised, she was doing a lot better in chemo and I had never felt so happy. Scar now had a daily check up nurse and of course Cam and Keegs visited her.
Troy hated being away from her.
Christmas break was coming up and I wondered what christmas would be like if the Dukes, Scar all came to ours. Usually the Dukes and Scar would have christmas dinner together.
But after everything, I wanted Scar and the Dukes to spend Christmas with us. I suggested this to my parents, my moms said she'd ask. I remained hopeful.

Saturday morning and I was finishing off latin homework, oh Ovid you nutcracker.
I decided that I wanted to get a jammy doughnut and went to Dunkin Doughnuts, as I put my mouth into the gooey goodness, someone tapped my shoulder.
Stacey. Oh no.
"Hey Shay." she said in an overly happy way, oh no the Stacey gossip senses were tingling.
"Hey Stacey." I said
"So I hear you have a boyfriend?" She chirped. I nearly spat out my doughnut.
"Er-I-uh" I spluttered. Were we? I didn't know.
"Oh sorry maybe I was wrong." She gave me pitiful eyes.Something overcame me and I couldn't stop myself, "No you're right."
"Really!"Stacey squealed.
Ergh.
"Mhm."
"Can I see a picture?" Of course she wanted evidence.
I sighed and took out my phone and showed her a picture of Troy and I surfing with big grins on our faces as we hugged each other. Stacey awwed.
Bitch please.
"He's really hot!" I rolled my eyes.
"Lucky me."
"Super lucky, anyway see you soon." Stacey marched away, the news of me having a boyfriend was going to spread like a disease.
I was known not to date and had turned more guys down than Kim Kardashian's numerous breast implant surgeries.
Troy was different and definitely special.
I went back home munching on my muffin. I swung the door open, and there sitting in ripped jeans and a Stanford sweat shirt was Troy Duke.
