So i'm back god i love writing this book!
~sometimes words can break you but they build you up as well~
..........
Summer was officially over.
I felt happy. Serene.
All these years and I finally had the person I wanted most.
Troy.
We were together.
We even made it official, Troy updated his status to In a Relationship with Shay Richards. Swoon.
Oh Hardy Har Har, a girl can be happy over a Facebook status.
Saying goodbye was hard, especially to Scar, my mom was staying with her for now, until we found a permanent daily nurse. I gave Scar a painting of her sitting on the beach, she cried.
I said my goodbyes to the Dukes, kissed Troy and got in the car.
Goodbye Rhode Island.
It had been one heck of a summer and so much had changed.
I was sad as well. Troy and I would be apart, he promised to fly down from Stanford every couple of months and we promised to Skype everyday. It just didn't feel enough. I wanted this so bad.
Then there was Nina.
School was about to start and I hadn't talked to her in weeks. I gave up with texting and calling.
We always went to the back to school sales, getting all the bargains, but I went to the mall on my own.
My mom hated shopping and my dad would just carry bags. I went alone to seek some clothes for the fall.
It felt strange. Would I spend senior year without my best friend? Over a boy?
I went to Top shop in search of jeans, they were having a two for one so I took black skinny and white wash boyfriend jeans.
I sighed, this wasn't the same. Then in came Stacey Vanhoot.
Stacey Vanhoot is the biggest gossip queen of our year, she gets information out of you without knowing. She's not horrible, but really nosey, she starts all the rumours.
I ducked behind a shoe rack and bumped into somene.
I look up.
Its Nina.
She was all tan and her blonde hair sparkles, and god I just wanted to hug her. She stared back at me.
"What are you doing here?" We both say.
I notice she was alone too.
"You first." Nina says.
"Hiding from Stacey." I reply.
"Me too." She says.I Sigh.
"Nina-"
"Stop."
"I'm truly sorry, I don't even like Luke! I don't know what I was thinking, I was upset and- thats not good enough and I know. But you mean the world to me, I can't lose you over a boy." I ramble.
"I forgive you." Nina whispers.
"He's not even good enough for you- wait what?" I say shocked.
"I forgive you Shay."
"Really?"
"Really. I can tell you regret it and you have phoned a billion times. You care." Nina replies.
"Of course I do! " I wrap her in a hug, she laughs softly.
"Friends?" I offer.
"Always." Nina smiles.
Thank you universe.
