THAT STAR ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH CHAPTER
Gabby's POV
•€•
March 8th

One of the many things I love about Jordan is the way he takes care of his hygiene. He has more products than I do when I shower.

Okay...I'm lying but still. He has a good amount. From skincare to beard wash. The man even exfoliates.

I stare and his eyes catch mine. I look away.

"Give me the baby before he pees on you," he says and I hand him to him. I don't know how he trusts himself that much.

I don't even trust him that much but I won't let him know that. Standing in the shower with the baby gives me the worst anxiety.

I leave that to him. I don't dare try it.

He washes Justice off quickly before handing him back to me so that he can finish his shower. I go to get him dressed.

Everytime Justice has a doctors appointment I get nervous. Nervous but not as nervous as Jordan. He becomes mute.

And hard of hearing.

I have to call his names five times before he regains consciousness.

"Babe," I say again. I shake his arm and he looks over at me. "Can you pass me his hat, please?" I say and he pulls it from the drawer before him.

"Don't you think he'll be hot?" he asks.

"No, he'll be okay and he sleeps better when he's warm

"No, he'll be okay and he sleeps better when he's warm. I need him asleep because he still hasn't eaten," I say adjusting his hat as he sucks on his fists.

"Okay. Ready?" he asks and I nod. He takes Justice from his changing table and heads downstairs to get him in his seat.

I push a couple more diapers in his bag before following behind them. I take a few bottles and put them into his bag.

I really hope this goes quickly. I hate that he has to go on an empty stomach. He's been so cranky and I can't stand it.

Jordan seems irritated too.

His cry is the worst sound.

Especially when I know what he wants and I can't give it to him. Isn't that what being a mother is about? My poor baby.

Jordan buckles him in and we're on our way. He still drives five miles under the limit when Justice is present. He's trying to be safe but if this baby wakes and starts crying, we'll have a bigger issue.

We pull up to the hospital and Jordan is the most tense I've ever seen him. We got the best news during our last visit but he's getting his shots today.
