THAT STAR ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH CHAPTER
Gabby's POV

August 5th

(There's a lot of Patois in these chapters. I'll translate if needed)

I honestly can't believe we're doing this. We still have a couple more weeks but this is actually happening.

2 weeks from today.

I look over at him with Justice sound asleep against his chest and I almost feel like crying.

"Put your seatbelt on," he says and I scrunch my nose at him before doing just so. "You too Kaitlyn," he says.

"Hush up," she says before putting hers on.

"Y'all sure do have a lot of attitude for two people who's names are ladybug and butterfly," he says and we both start laughing.

"Shut up," we say in unison. I know Jordan hates it when we're together. We find joy in ganging up on him.

He just scoffs and adjusts Justice in his arms.

The jet takes off and we embark on our 3 hour journey to my favorite place. We land and even though Jordan doesn't like the idea, I drive.

I get the same ride I always get when I come here. It use to be my dream car before I decided on a Tesla.

I know the roads and how to maneuver through them although they've been "fixing" them since the last time I was here

I know the roads and how to maneuver through them although they've been "fixing" them since the last time I was here.

I haven't been back here in what feels like forever.

Everything just brings back the most fondest of memories. Palms trees and fruit covered roads makes me smile big.

All of my summers roaming the streets of Bath, St.Thomas Jamaica while my parents worked come running through my mind.

Of course, I had Kaitlyn to look after most of the time but as the sun set, my cousins and I were like owls in the night.

I wouldn't say I was doing anything I wasn't supposed to be doing but I definitely followed my cousins wherever they went.

Most of my family from my mother's side still remained in Jamaica and migrated to the States throughout the years. Minus my grandmother and my uncles families.

My dads side all remain in Jamaica but I only ever visit his older sister. Mostly because they live scattered around St.Andrew. His parents are no longer with us.

Now, I get to take my family to experience my second home.

The people and the environment are so warm and inviting. I want Justice to grow up with the culture and know where his family comes from.

The same way I did.

"You okay?" I ask Jordan on the way to my grandmothers home.

He seems so nervous.
