(A month later)

Shoyo and Tobio walked along the hospitals hallway, hand in hand.

"Your doing so good baby" Tobio smiled and kissed his head, making Shoyo look at him and smile a bit.

"Thank you" Shoyo smiled, stopping and taking a deep breath as she leaned on the wall for some support.

"You okay?" Tobio asked, putting a hand on his back.
Shoyo smiled and nodded, taking a deep breath and standing up straight.

Tobio held his hand out, helping Sho get back on the bed.

"Try and get some rest honey, I'll be right back" he kissed the top of his head and covered him with a blanket.

Shoyo just nodded, turning to his side.

Tobio sighed and stepped out of the room, he ran a hand through his hair and leaned on the wall for a second.

"Hey, I was just coming to talk to you guys- are you okay?" Tobio looked up to see Dr Saito waking up to him, stopping in front of him.

"Yea sorry, I just needed a minute" Tobio looked down and crossed his arms.

"You know, you both have been through a lot. It's okay if your feeling overwhelmed" Saito put a hand on his shoulder and gave a warm smile.

Tobio avoided eye contact and sighed, "yea, but Shoyo is the one who went through all of- you know, everything. So I don't know- I feel like I shouldn' be the one feeling like this" he put a hand on his head and rubbed his temples.

"Listen. A lot of times, the spouses, family and friends are all expected to be fine, and strong for their loved ones during a traumatic event or period in their life. But the truth is, everyone around them will experience strong emotions, feel helpless or overwhelmed, and it's a completely valid feeling. Your allowed to feel like this" Saito pat his back, then pulled his clipboard up to his chest.

"Thank you" Tobio sighed and gave a small smile, then turned his head to the door.

"Do you need a little longer?" Saito asked, but Tobio shook his head. So the two walked back in the room.

Shoyo looked up when he heard the door open up again, he sat up and set his phone down.

"Hello, how are you feeling this morning?" Saito asked with a smile as he came up to the side of the bed.

"Good, just tired" Shoyo said, Tobio reached down and held his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"As to be expected, can't be easy having nurses coming in and out of the room all night" Saito chuckled and slipped on some gloves.

"Your right about that" Shoyo laughed and laid back when Saito asked him to.

Tobio just kissed Sho's head and gently let his hair back.

Saito did a quick exam, then picked up his chart and looked over at the couple. "My colleagues and I have been talking, and we think that your ready to go home" he said.

Shoyo perked up and looked at him, "really-" he said and smiled.

"Yes, I feel comfortable medically clearing you. But there are some things we have to discuss before your discharge, which we can start right now if your ready"

Shoyo just nodded and looked at Tobio with a bright smile.

" alright, well to start off, no strenuous activities, no lifting anything heavy. Your still healing from a major abdominal surgery, and we can't risk you injuring yourself in any way" Saito started off.
