(A few days later)

Shoyo woke up and looked around.

He spotted Tobio next to him sitting on a chair close by, quietly scrolling on his phone as he texted Miwa to check in on the kids.

Tobio looked over and saw he was awake, he shut his phone off and stood, "Thank god- hey baby" he smiled, leaning down and kissing his head. "I'm gonna go get the doctor" he said, and went to go but Shoyo just grabbed his head and shook his head, sleepily. "Stay.." Shoyo said, looking up at him.

Tobio just sat next to him and reached over, pressing the nurses call button.

Only a moment later, a nurse came rushing in, letting out a relieved sigh when she saw he was awake.

"I'll call Dr Miyu and Saito" she said, pressing a couple buttons on her pager and then going up to Shoyo.

"Do you need anything honey?" She asked him, giving a soft smile.

Shoyo shook his head, "I'm okay, thank you" he smiled, closing his eyes again and just taking a deep breath.

Miyu and Saito came to the room a few moments later.

"It's good to see you awake, how are you feeling?" Saito asked with a smile.

Shoyo just shrugged and closed his eyes again.

Tobio moved to standing next to Shoyo, and was just gently brushing his hair back as they spoke.

They then checked in on how he was feeling, took his vitals and did a quick exam. Everything was looking good, and he seemed to be on the right track for a good recovery.

"When can I see the pup" Shoyo said, sitting up a bit and looking between the doctors and Tobio.

Miyu looked at Saito who chuckled and nodded, "we can get you to him, I'll have a nurse bring a wheelchair and bring you to him" he said, Shoyo smiled, looking over at Tobio.

A nurse came in a couple minutes later with a wheelchair, and another nurse to help.

"How has he been?" Shoyo asked Tobio, who helped him sit in the chair and fixed the blanket that draped over his legs.

"He's doing good. He's so strong, like you" Tobio smiled, kissing his head and walking alongside the nurse as she bath to push the wheelchair out of the room, and to the NICCU.

They entered the room, and they pulled Shoyo next to the pups small bed.

"He's so tiny-" Shoyo put his hand on top of the little box covering the bed, and just stared down at the pup.

"Three pounds, six ounces. But that's not slowing him down" Kiyo said with a chuckle, coming inside the room with charts in her hand.

"We can get you all set up to hold him, if you want" she said, smiling over at them.

Shoyo nodded, keeping his eyes glued on the now squirmy boy.

It took about a half hour to get everything situated.

They had Shoyo moved onto a reclining chair that sat near the bed, and prepped the pup to be moved.

The pup started to fuss, flailing his tiny limbs all around as he was lifted up and out of the bed.

Tobio opened Shoyo's gown a bit, and the pup was placed right onto his chest. The tiny boy calmed down, right as Shoyo placed his hand onto his back, kissing his head.
