Shoyo has spent the last week just laying in bed.
He has felt so physically, mentally and emotionally drained, that he just hasn't been able to move.
He's barely talked to Tobio and the kids, nor anyone else outside of their home.
The twins have been very confused, and sad that their mama hasn't been feeling good or talking to them. They thought they did something wrong, but Tobio assured them that they didn't.
Kazuyo has been extra fussy, and making things just a bit difficult for Tobio.
Luckily, Tobio knows that this is just an overall confusing thing for the kids, so he's been extra gentle when talking to them. _________
Tobio walked into their room and saw Shoyo turned onto his side, staring at him as he walked up.
He sat down next to Sho, who turned and looked up at him.
Tobio just leaned down and kissed Shoyo's head, giving a warm smile as he looked down at him.
Shoyo just sat up and kept his glance down, not saying anything for a few minutes.
"Why don't I run you a bath?" Tobio said, caressing his cheek.
Shoyo just looked up at him and shrugged, then watched as he got up and went into their bathroom. A minute later, he heard the water start running. ________
Tobio filled up the bath, putting in some bath salts and relaxing oils.
He grabbed a towel from the cabinet, then went back into the bedroom and grabbed a shirt of his to let Shoyo wear, along with a pair of his pants.
"Alright, you ready?" Tobio held out his hand, and helped Shoyo up.
He got him into the bathroom, and helped him get undressed and settled into the bath.
He grabbed some shampoo and started washing Sho's hair. Shoyo just pulled his knees up to his chest, relaxing into Tobio's gentle touch.
"You okay?" Tobio asked, finishing up washing his hair and placing a gentle kiss into his cheek.
Shoyo smiled at him and nodded, "thank you" he said, leaning on his chest a little.
Tobio just wrapped his arms around him, not even caring that his shirt was now getting soaked. ______
When he finished getting cleaned up, he helped Shoyo get out and wrapped a towel around him.
He slipped the shirt over his head and got his pants on, "I love you" he said, kissing his head and pressing their foreheads together.
"I love you too, Tobio" Shoyo teared up and wrapped his arms around his waist, taking in his scent. _________
The two just stood there for a little bit, relaxing in one another's arms.
"You should change your shirt" Shoyo said with a slight chuckle, realizing that his hair had pretty much soaked Tobio's shirt by now.
Tobio just nodded, guiding him out of the bathroom, then changing his shirt really quick.
"Do you wanna come downstairs with us?" Tobio asked, looked over at Shoyo who just stood there for a moment, crossing his arms.
He thought for a moment, but then nodded. He honestly didn't know if he could stand being alone with his thoughts anymore, and he really did miss the kids. _________
When they got downstairs, the twins hurried over to him, trapping his legs in place.
"Mama!" Harumi giggled and pat his leg, smiling brightly up at him.
"Let's get mama on the couch, okay?" Tobio said, smiling down at them.
The twins both took one of his hands, and gently pulled him over to the couch where Kazuyo was sitting up, giving them all the death glare.
"I'm sorry, are you mad at me, my little grumpy pants" Shoyo said, sitting down. He reached over and picked up the fussy pup, who just wrapped his arms around him.
"Mama, why are you so sad?" Hanako asked, looking up at him with a frown.
Shoyo looked down at her and sighed, then looked up at Tobio.
He gently settled Kazuyo down into his lap and turned to the twins as Tobio sat behind him. "Are you sure you wanna tell them?" Tobio whispered, kissing his cheek.
Shoyo just nodded, and looked back down at the twins with a gentle, yet sad smile.
"So, you guys know how you guys were going to have two new little siblings right?" He started out.
The twins nodded, "yes mama, like me and sissy, right?" Hanako said and smiled looking over at Harumi.
Shoyo teared up, but nodded. "Yes like you and sissy" he smiled and caressed their faces, "well, when mama went to the doctor the other day, the doctor couldn't find one of the pups heart beats" he stiffened up and took a deep breath.
"What does that mean, mama?" Hanako tilted her head and looked up at him.
Shoyo choked back tears, taking back one of his hands and wiping his face.
"It's okay mama!" Hanako got up and grabbed a couple of tissues from the side table, handing them to him with a bright smile.
"Thank you honey" Shoyo smiled and took them, then sighed. He waited for her to sit down, then continued.
He turned to them again and held each of their hands, "One of the pups passed away, that's why it's been very hard for mama" he watched as frowns came upon their little faces.
Harumi crawled closer to him and just laid her head on his side, while Hanako put her little hands on his, bringing them close to her face and giving them a small kiss.
Shoyo smiled, brining them in for a hug. Tobio wrapped his arms around all of them, surrounding them in his scent.
"It'll be okay" Tobio whispered.
Shoyo just leaned into his touch, silently tearing up as he kept his arms around the kids. ____________________________________
