If you thought things were bad before ... you haven't seen anything yet

Welcome to the third act.

Safaya spent her days wandering about school and making Nate's life a living hell. All of the turmoil and trauma he caused her was coming back to bite him in the ass severely. He was in such a desperate mindset to keep my sister around and "in-love" with him that he did whatever she wanted.

Power was a dangerous thing for Safaya to have.

My sister had been living at Nate's house for the last couple weeks. She had lied and told our mom that she was staying at Maddy's because our home was too toxic for her mental state. And like all things that Saf did or didn't do, my mom didn't question it. Too absorbed in the act of making sure the two kids under her roof were sober and mentally well.

While under the Jacob's roof, Safaya treated Nate like he was her bitch in his own house. While I'd normally be happy that she was getting well deserved revenge, the boy was enabling her every move. She made Nate go get her drugs from Fez, no matter how much he protested. The encounter was awkward at first but by the third and fourth time, things started to somewhat mellow out. Fez promised to never deal to my sister again but the news that Nate and Saf had gotten together didn't reach his side of the neighborhood. But with everything going on at Fez's house, he probably wouldn't have been thinking straight anyway. My sister had no limits to what she could get or do and it was turning her into a spoiled monster. At least, that's how things appeared on the outside.

It was all a facade for how she truly felt. Maddy was the only thing on her mind as of late and no matter how many times her finger hovered over the call button, she could never do it. She couldn't risk putting someone she cared about in danger. Someone she couldn't afford to lose. Every time she thought of Maddy she'd get angry. Angry at the fact that she was trapped with Nate with no way out because nothing would stop him. And when Saf was angry she was a fucking bitch.

It had been about two weeks since Saf and Nate got together and East Highland still could not get over it. The couple made their daily hall crawl together, looking their absolute best while Saf plastered a fake smile, wiping her nose discreetly in case any coke residue was left behind. She took a hit in the passenger seat of Nate's car, snorting the two lines right off of her phone on the center console. Drugs were the only thing that was keeping her together.

The boy pressed a kiss to Saf's forehead before parting from her, going to chat with someone who was on his varsity baseball team. Saf took the time to breathe, happy to be alone for just a moment without someone breathing down her back and examining every move she made. She had her head in her locker, looking for a book she needed for her first class of the day when a small touch on her shoulder stopped her.

"Lexi, hey!" She smiled at the girl genuinely. "What's up?" She asked.

The last time the girls really saw each other was Maddy's party when it all went to shit. So, Lexi was kind of valid in the fact that she didn't know how Saf would respond to her. "Hey, um, how are you?" She tried breaking the ice.
