Safaya sat in the backseat on her phone, laughing as McCay and Nate bantered over the preparation for the party tonight. She scrolled through Instagram and watched as Maddy's story popped up on her feed. She knew Maddy had something up her sleeve regarding tonight's events, and her post of blasting music with her girlfriends proved it, but since she didn't have solid proof she didn't say anything to Nate. It's not like she completely hated Maddy, she didn't have it in her heart to do that. But based on what Nate told her and how shitty his ex girlfriend treated Safaya, she wasn't exactly Perez's biggest fan.
"I don't know bro. You know my mom is real OCD, she notices the smallest shit: a little scratch on the wall, the dishes are out of order." McCay huffed. He was stressed more about his mom than his annoying little brothers who could very well snitch at any given point.
Saf locked her phone and threw it next to her on the seat. "We'll just take a picture of everything and we'll put it back the way we found it." She shrugged like it was the easiest thing in the world. Something about her comment made McCay think she was a pro at this.
The college boy turned around to look at the girl, a sweet smile on her face. "What the fuck is this, Mission Impossible?" He said, clearly worried.
"Does that mean I get to wear all black?" Safaya smirked.
Nate looked at her through his side mirror and chuckled, playfully rolling his eyes at his best friend. "Would you stop worrying about your mom and start worrying about all the fucking pussy that we're gonna smash tonight, bro." The boy said with a smug grin on his face.
The curly haired girl blew a raspberry into the air and rolled her eyes. "No, no, no, no, no. Wait. Isn't Maddy coming tonight?" He turned back around to Saf as if she had all the answers pertaining to other girls.
"I don't know." Nate said dryly. "I don't give a fuck. She broke up with me. Fuck her. Isn't that right, Saf?" He asked.
She narrowed her eyes. "Fuck her." She chuckled. Every time that Nate and Maddy had a lovers quarrel they put Saf in the middle of it and it had been that way for months. And every time she chose the side of Nate. "She just doesn't know what she's missing."
McCay shook his head violently. "See, no, bro. 'Cause she's crazy. Remember that time she told everyone that you and Safaya were fucking even though that never happened?" He scoffed. "She tried to ruin her reputation and then acted like she didn't start the rumor when everyone knew it was bullshit. I don't want her to come and try to burn my house down."
Nate turned to his friend. "Burn your--? Shut the fuck up."
"I won't let that happen." Saf chimed in. "If anything goes badly I'll just try to talk to her and calm her down."
