FOURTEEN | HOSPITAL BLUES

Olivia reunites with the kids in the basement of the Wheelers to find El with a blindfold over her eyes.

"What is she doing?" She asks.

"Looking for Hopper." Lucas answers.

"I found him." El says.

"Where?" Max asks.

"Woods. With Will's Mom."

"What are they doing?"

"They're going to ill-annoy."

"Mike! Come eat breakfast!" Karen yells from the other side of the door.

"Not now Mom!" Mike yells back. "The state of Illinois?"

"Ill-annoy?" El says unsure. El and Max go into the bathroom and Olivia goes upstairs to get something to drink.

"Do you have any water?" She asks.

"Of course." She goes into the fridge and hands her a bottle. "So... Olivia. How's Billy?" Karen asks.

"Why? What's it to you?" Olivia uncaps the bottle.

"Just wondering." Olivia raises an eyebrow.

She takes a sip.

"He's fine." She recaps the bottle.

"And you two are still together?"

"Why are you asking so many questions?"

"I just... I go to the pool be—because of Holly and he's a lifeguard there so..."

"Yeah. Okay. Let's pretend that you're asking about his well-being because he's a lifeguard. Let's play that game."

"What game? What are you talking about?"

"Billy told me about the little flirt session he had with you when he was looking for Max." Karen's face turns red and she looks down. "Yeah. He didn't mean it. He was only doing that to get information out of you. Obviously it worked. He's not attracted to you."

"And how do you know?"

"Because if he was, he would have dumped me last year and gone straight for you. And seeing as how he didn't..." she sighs. "Look, you're a nice lady. But whatever thoughts you have about Billy, get 'em out of your mind. You got a nice family Mrs. Wheeler. Don't fuck it up over a teenage boy." The door opens and Nancy and Jonathan walk in.
