EIGHTEEN | THOSE MAGIC CHANGES
Olivia sits on a gurney with Max and she has ice pressed against her cheek.
"Max." Olivia says, reaching into her pocket. "I grabbed this before they took him." She hands her the necklace. Max looks at it before handing it back to her.
"He'd want you to have it." She says.
She sighs before placing it around her neck.
She sees Joyce and Murray show up surrounded by soldiers, but there's no Hopper.
Someone had to sacrifice themself. Someone always has to sacrifice themself.
"Hey." Steve grabs her attention. "You okay?"
"Not really Steve."
"About what happened—"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Maxine!" Sharon yells. Max gets out of the gurney and goes running to her mom's open arms. Olivia looks around and sees each kid safe. El with the Joyce and Will, Nancy with Mike and Steve and Robin comforting each other.
"Olivia!" She hears her mother's voice. She looks up and sees her parents racing to her. She gets up and meets them halfway. "Are you okay?"
"Mom. I'm fine." She says coldly. Her parents inspect her.
"Let us look at you." Charles says. He takes her hands and notices that they're warm. "Kim." Kim takes her daughter's hands.
"They're back?" Olivia nods. Kim notices the new jewelry around her daughter's neck. "Olivia...Where's Billy?"
"He—" she hiccups. She can't form the words to say it. They look back at the mall and see it crumbling in the fire and they put two and two together.
"It's okay sweetie." Her parents pull her into a group hug and she sobs heavily. "Let's go home."
