SIXTEEN | BATTLE AT STARCOURT
"He said he was building something." Eleven says when Max and Olivia come back inside. "That it was all for me."
Olivia goes into the bathroom to rinse her mouth but she can still hear the conversation.
"Was he talking about the flayed?" Max asks.
"He has to be." Nancy says.
"So, he's building an army, just like we thought." Lucas says.
"He's not building his arms to spread." Mike says.
"He's building it to stop El." Will says.
She comes out of the bathroom and joins the others.
"El closed the gate on him last year. He's probably really pissed. And because of that, he knows that she's the only person that can stop him. And if she's out the way—"
"Game over." Lucas says.
"He also said that he was going to kill all of you." El says.
"Well that's nice." Max says.
A faint screeching noise is heard outside.
"It's just the fireworks." Jonathan says.
Olivia's eyebrows furrow slightly.
"When you spoke to Billy, were you here in this room?" Nancy asks. El nods.
"He knows where we are now." Olivia says. Another screech echoes outside. "Those aren't fireworks."
They all go outside to see the trees rustling and the Mind Flayer walking towards them. The group straps up and barricades the doors and windows. Olivia flips her knives into her hands and they wait.
The cabin begins to shake and the electricity crackles. A tentacle breaks through the wall and Jonathan chops it a few times with the axe before it knocks him against the wall. Olivia stabs him with her knives and stops.
"Oh shit." She tightly holds onto her knives as the tentacle flings her all around. She lets go and slams against the wall. When she gets up, the tentacle flings the knives at her and she quickly ducks, stands, and takes them out of the wall.
Nancy takes a couple shots at it with the shot gun before realizing it doesn't work. It comes back at her and El stops it and decaptiates it and it goes slithering back out of the wall. Two more come crashing through and El decapitates those before one comes through the ceiling and grabs El by the ankle. Everyone grabs her arms except Nancy who shoots it and Lucas takes the axes and chops the shit out of it.
