"What the hell is going on?" Hopper asks as he stand there with Joyce and Murray. Hopper picks El up and lays her down in his arms while everyone tries to recap what's going on.
"I have to close her up." Olivia says. Eleven nods in agreement.
"Woah, what do you mean close her up?" Hopper asks.
"She needs stitches." Olivia explains. Hopper looks at her with skepticism. Olivia partially takes off her bandage. "I did this to myself. I know what I'm doing. I'm not going to hurt her Hopper."
"Fine." He sighs. She sits down and begins to close up her wound.
"So just to be clear, this big fleshy thing that hurt El is some sort of gigantic weapon?" Steve asks. Everyone nods.
"But instead of screws and metal, the Mind Flayer made his weapon out of melted people."
"Exactly." Nancy says.
"Yeah. Okay just uh... making sure. And your boyfriend is the ring leader?"
"Yep." Olivia covers the stitches. "You're all set."
"Thank you." Hopper says. She kisses El's head.
"Anytime."
"Are we sure this thing is still out there?" Joyce asks.
"El literally sliced it in half but it's still alive." Max says.
"But if you close the gate again—" Will begins.
"You cut the brain from the body."
"And kill it." Lucas says. "Theoretically."
"Yoo-hoo!" Murray yells waving paper. "This is what Alexei called The Hub. The Hub takes us to the vault room."
"So where's the gate?" Hopper asks.
"Right here. I don't know the scale but I think it's fairly close to the vault room. Maybe 50 feet."
"More like 500." Erica says. "Do you think you're going to waltz in there like it's Commie Disneyland?"
"I'm sorry. Who are you?"
"Erica Sinclair. Who are you?"
"Murray... Bauman."
"Well listen here Mr. Bunman, I'm not trying to tell you how to do things, but I've been in that shithole for 24 hours. With all due respect, if you do what this man tells you, you're all gonna die."
