TWENTY-THREE | DEAR BILLY
"It was here." Max points her flashlight at the wall. "Right here.
"A grandfather clock?" Nancy asks.
"It was so real... and I got closer and then I woke up."
"It was like she was in a trance or something." Dustin says. "Just like what Eddie said happened to Chrissy."
"That's not even the bad part." They follow her back into the office. "Fred and Chrissy both came to Miss. Kelley for help. They were having headaches that wouldn't go away. Then the nightmares, trouble sleeping, waking up in a cold sweat and seeing things. Bad things from their past. The visions kept getting worse and worse until eventually...everything ended."
"Vecna's curse." Robin says.
"Chrissy's headaches started a week ago. Fred was 6 days ago." She puts the folders down. "I've been having them for 5 days. I don't know how long I have but all I know is that Fred and Chrissy both died less than 24 hours after their first vision. And I just saw the goddamn clock so... looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow."
"We're not gonna let that happen." Olivia says.
A clang echoes in the distance, grabbing everyone's attention.
"Stay here." Steve says. He grabs light and goes out in the hallway.
"No." Olivia defies Steve's order. "Let's go." She says to everyone left in the room.
The group sneaks around the corner and walk carefully down the hall in the direction of the sound. Rapid footsteps are heard in another hallway.
Olivia sparks her hands ready to light someone or something up.
A body jumps in front and everyone screams.
"It's me!"
"Lucas?" Nancy yells.
"It's me." Lucas repeats out of breath.
"What's wrong with you?!" Steve shakes the light.
"I could have set you on fire!" Olivia yells.
"Sorry. I was biking for 8 miles. Give me one second." He takes a moment to catch his breath. "We've got a code red. Dustin, I've been with Jason, Patrick, and Andy and they've all gone off the rails. They're trying to capture Eddie and they think you know where he is. You're in terrible danger."
