NINE | STARGAZING
With the help of the government, everyone was able to get a week off of school with no penalty. And honestly, they really needed it.
Olivia lightly runs down the stairs with a smile on her face.
"Where's the fire?" Kim asks. Olivia rolls her eyes and quickly eats her toast. "Slow down."
"I can't. He'll be here soon."
"She changed like 5 times this morning." Charles says as he fills his coffee mug.
"5 is an exaggeration... it was only 3." She takes a sip of juice. "Today we are making our... in school debut as a couple. I have to make sure I look good."
Charles grunts.
"Oh don't act like that hun." Kim says. "You're acting like you didn't do that when we first started dating."
"I just..." Charles sighs. "I don't like that you're growing up. You're graduating high school next year... you have a boyfriend... it's a lot for this old man."
Olivia smiles at her father sentiment.
"Don't worry Dad." Olivia gets up from the table and hugs him. "You know you'll always be the number one guy in my life."
"Before or after your Grandfather?" He smirks.
"Uh... it's pretty close."
A car horn honks from outside.
"Billy's here. Gotta go!" She stuffs a muffin in her bag and kisses her parents. "Love you both!" As she steps out of the house, she sees Billy leaning against his car and Max climbing to the backseat. Olivia walks down the steps and goes to his car.
"Good morning." She smiles.
"Morning beautiful." The two kiss. "Your chariot awaits." The two get in the car.
"Morning Max."
"Morning Liv." Billy takes off and the two speed to school.
Every time Billy's car roars into the parking lot, everyone stops to look. But now, they have another reason to look. Billy pulls into the parking lot and gets out first. He opens Olivia's door and helps her out and Max pushes down the seat and gets out.
"See you both later." Max skates off. Max and Billy's relationship has gotten better over the past week. And by better, that means they're not griping at each other and he's learned to deal with her friendship with Lucas.
