TWENTY-SEVEN | WATERGATE

Steve is on the ground in the Upside Down being choked and bitten by bats. He lays there, his life almost flashing before his eyes, hoping that someone from the group comes to save hm.

One of the bats on him is flung off.

"Hey there." Nancy greets.

Nancy and Eddie are using the oars from the boat to smack the flying bats and Robin is stomping on the ones already on the ground.

Olivia ignites her hands and throws fire balls at the bats.

"Eddie behind you!" Olivia calls out.

Eddie turns around and smacks a bat like a baseball. A bat latches onto Nancy's back and Robin helps her snatch it off. Eddie's oar breaks in half from the contact of hitting another bat.

The one on Nancy is torn off by Robin and slammed repeatedly on the ground. The bat wrapped around Steve's neck finally unravels and Steve rips it in half, blood dripping from his mouth.

"Jesus H. Christ!" Eddie stomps his feet and throws his oar down.

"Do you think these bats have rabies?" Robin asks.

"Well if they do, there goes the vampire theory." Olivia says.

"Rabies are like my number one fear."

"We are literally standing in an alternate dimension trying to fight a guy who can enter people's minds and snap their bones in real life and rabies is your biggest fear right now? I think you need to get your priorities in order." Olivia says.

They look up to the sky to see a swarm of bats heading towards them.

"Let's get into the woods." Nancy says.

They run into the woods and hide in the skull in the Upside Down's Skull Rock.

"That was close." Robin sighs.

Steve stumbles back and Nancy runs to his aid.

"I'm fine." He protests.

"No you're not. You're loosing blood." She rips her clothes to bandage Steve.

Eddie climbs up to get a better view. "So uh this place is like Hawkins but with monsters and nasty shit?"

"Pretty much." Nancy answers. "Watch out for the vines. It's all hive mind."

"What?"
