Mia's Open Heart (Choices Open Heart AU)

Author's Note: Notice Regarding Future Updates

Hey everyone!

I am dropping in with an update regarding the future of this AU. I would like to start off with a wholehearted thank you to everyone that has supported me and this book, I never excepted to reach this many people and your reads and comments mean the world to me.

It has been almost two years since I started writing this AU in the Fall of 2020, when we were facing the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was a part of the Choices Instagram Fandom, and decided to start a book continuing on the beautifully written series of Open Heart, starting off from where Open Heart: Second Year ended.

Since starting the book, so much in my life, both personally and fandom-wise, within these last two years. I was finishing high school, navigating the pandemic, and dealing with multiple personal issues. I ended my time in the Instagram fandom, lost my account and ended up having it completely wiped from Instagram. I never read OH 3 due to my devotion of this book that started before that came out, and my interest in Choices dwindled altogether due to the new content arising from the book.

I am now about to start my first year in university, and my life has changed tremendously since this book started. I have been facing INTENSE writer's block since the beginning of this year which has led to the increase in time between chapter uploads. I had more planned for the book, but I wanted to give it an earlier ending point so I wouldn't drag the readers along.

I still hold this book, and the Choices stories I have read, deeply in my heart. This is not a definite end to the book, I just wanted to stop for the time-being here so that I could get a break and revamp my love for this story, and get a chance to focus on new ideas that I am excited for.

Currently, that is the idea of rewriting Choices books into this longer written novel form, a "series" I will call 'Choices Stories Retold'. I came up with this idea recently due to my wish to reread the beautiful Choices stories I fell in love with, while adding detail and making it easier to go back and revisit. I think this will be a great way to get my creative juices flowing in a way that I'm actually feeling motivated for, and will hopefully motivate me with more ideas on how to properly end this book in the justice I believe it deserves. The first Choices Stories Retold will be on the Bloodbound stories. I hope that you will read that and give it the love you gave this book, since it is a project I'm very excited to start.

If you can, please share Bloodbound: Choices Stories Retold when it comes out with other Choices fans and on other social media platforms, since I won't be able to advertise that book like I did this one.
