Bruce Wayne, Gotham superhero lay on his faux leather computer chair. His hands gripped the armrests tightly, as he fought to contain the shock, horror and some glee.
You see, Bruce Wayne despite being a man who loves technology, has despite his best efforts lost himself in the world of literature. And by all accounts, newspapers.
The caped crusader had many means of finding his information, at least when it came to the crime world. But under normal circumstances; the kind where a person, doesn't and I repeat doesn't! Dress up as a bat to beat up criminals. Bruce was caught reading the newspaper in his spare civilian hours.
But as he stared in shock at the front cover of today's newspaper, barely holding in the inner conflict to squeeze until it was a small paper ball, all the while throwing it into a nearby roaring fire and watching it get consumed in amber.
"Fucking vultures!" Bruce thought to himself, almost growling at the audacity of some people. He may have been civil with the press, but this was crossing a line! His son. His sixteen-year-old son was on the front cover of the Gotham Gazette.
Not only that, but he was... Kissing someone. His son was in a relationship! Bruce felt the need to cry in happiness, yet at the same, his nostrils flared. How long he questioned, his body filling with the protective instinct of parents all around the world.
He stared down at the title, that shockingly simple title. THE GOTHAM PRINCE HAS FOUND HIS PRINCESS! WILL IT LAST?
Bruce pinched his nose. "He is Sixteen and not to mention my son. Of course, it will last." The billionaire stated firmly to himself. Although, he didn't have the best track record in long-term relationships. "Damian will be different." He made that vow, not knowing that the drama has only just begun.
Bruce received many messages that night, mostly from Justice League members- who he was close with, and the arguments that had erupted within the family group chat. It wasn't even his choice, Dick his eldest had begged him, leading to a huge amount of messages, which had all but flooded his email, Voicemail and texts; not to mention calls. Although they seemed important- at first.
The first one he called back was Lois and Clark. They had teased him relentlessly, badgering him about his parenting. It would have caused him to lose his temper, had he not known them so well. But, despite that they had called for a reason, Lois was pissed. She ranted on and on about the paparazzi, smoke blowing from her ears and Clark well, he stood out of the way of the tornado of black hair, that just happened to be his wife. Bruce laughed, almost making him forget his vengeance. But, that would come. Oh, it would be spectacular!
Taking on the leadership role, that he so often dawned. Bruce had asked the Kryptonian and his wife to reach out to their contacts. Gotham Gazette had committed a crime. Taking a picture of a minor and it was one of Bruce's own.
They had upset the delicate yet frugal peace that was negotiated. Batman smirked. Unfolding his folder on the Gotham Gazette, he had found who run it. A short man with a beak-like nose and a buzz cut.
Roger Vale. Husband to Vickie Vale. "An ally certainly, but can her husband be trusted?" Bruce mused. "Alfred, do you mind setting up the cave for a family meeting. It's time I talked with Damian and the others."
Bruce calmly sat in his chair, waiting for revenge and retribution alongside Justice of course. Taking a sip of his lemon tea with two sugars and watching the bat cave come to life.
"Computer. File open. Gotham Gazette and create a new profile. Name Roger Vale." Bruce commanded. The computer obeyed without question and within a millisecond they had all the information.
