Stephanie's P.O.V.
The hospital is freezing cold when I walk in, the doors shutting out the warm air behind me with a whoosh. I walk up to the waiting room desk.
"Can I help you?" A nurse at the desk asks.
"I'm here to visit someone...." I say.
"Okay, go through that door and then go straight until you reach a nurses station. They'll tell you where she's at." She instructs.
"Great thanks." I say and walk to the door to the right of the nurses station. I enter a sterile looking white hallway and walk down it. I pass a couple of rooms with the doors closed, a restroom and finally I reach the nurses station.
"Hi, I'm looking for Ally....." I say.
"Ally who?" The male nurse asks.
Why can't I remember her last name? I think and think but I can't come up with it.
"She's here with a British guy with black hair and tattoos, a blonde girl and an Irish blonde guy. She's short with dark hair." I describe, hoping he gets it.
When I say Irish blonde guy I can see a hint of recognition on his face. "Irish blonde guy, thick accent resembles a leprochaun?"
"Yep, that's him." I nod.
"Okay go down that way," He points farther down from the waiting room. "Take a right, pass another nurses station, and then take a left. Third room on the right."
"Okay, thank you." I say and follow his direction, my flip flops slapping on the white linoleum.
I reach the room, and the door is closed. No light seeps from the crack under the door, so I assume that the lights are off. I take a deep breath, and turn the handle. The door swings open and I step into the room. I search around for the lightswitch and I finaly find it, flicking it up.
Then I see something I never thought I'd see in my life. Harry is laying on his back, arms above his head and Ally is curled around him.
"Niall don't lose your shit it's not what it looks like." Harry mumbles. "You should be sleeping."
I'm not sure what to say.
"Niall?" Ally asks, opening her eyes and scooting up the bed so she's resting against the part that is only slightly reclined.
"Not exactly." I laugh as she rubs her eyes.
"STEPH!" Ally yelps, eyes wide and a smile spreading on her face.
I smile and walk over to hug her, dropping my duffel to the floor. Thankfully Harry is on the side farthest from the door. She hugs my hard and then I step back.
"So do I need to get the strippers or are you going to make it?" I ask.
She laughs. "I'm so sorry Steph, I missed you so much."
"So did I." Harry sits up, then climbs off the bed.
"OOOOOO!" Ally laughs. "Can I have a minute with Steph?"
"Yeah, I'm going to go back to the apartment and try to get some sleep, and maybe some food." Harry says. "Do you want me to bring something back for you?"
"The thought of food makes me sick." Ally groans.
"So that's a no." He says and walks past me to the door. "You okay with her?"
"Yeah...." I say.
"She can't walk." Harry explains.
"Man your effed up!" I look over to Ally.
"Tell me about it." Ally says as Harry leaves the room.
I crawl over her to the spot Harry was and cross my legs, facing her with my back resting against the plastic foot of the bed.
"So what's wrong with you?" I ask. "Issues, list them all."
"My back hurts, my ankles hurt, the thought of food makes me sick, and my boobs hurt like hell." Ally says. "But I didn't exactly say anything about that last part to Harry or Niall.
Harry's P.O.V.
Steph walked in and it felt like the room lit up and a weight was lifted off my chest, even though she looked like crap. She was pale, and had circles under her eyes. After the initial relief of seing her, I noticed the tension and awkwardness in the room. Naturally I got the f*** out of there.
I call Ash to come and pick me up so I can get some sleep on a real bed. She shows up quickly, swinging my car precariously close to the curb as she whips up to where I'm standing.
I climb in. "Hey." I say.
"Is someone here with Ally?" Ash asks, not moving the car. "We're not leaving until you tell me."
"Jesus christ yes! I'm not a total monster." I snap. "Steph flew in."
"Did you talk to her?" She shifts the car from park and peels away from the curb.
"No, she's not here for me. Ally wanted to talk to her alone." I sigh.
"You can't avoid her forever." She says, laying a lead foot on the gas pedal and blowing through a yellow/red light.
"Hey evil knieval, lift the lead foot." I grunt. Thankfully no one's out at four in the morning.
"You're tired and grumpy so I'll talk to you about Steph later." Ash says and follows it with "How's Ally?"
"Not so great. She can't walk because her baack hurts so bad, and she won't even talk about food." I list off her symptoms.
"What's wrong with her?" Ash asks.
"How should I know? I hope they fix her soon because she made me take her to the bathroom." I shudder.
Ash laughs as we pull into the apartment parking lot.
"Niall peed, and passed out, in that order thankfully. So don't be to loud." Ash says as we climb the stairs.
"I've got to get some sleep. Will you wake me up in like three hours?" I ask as we walk into the apartment.
"Yeah, I've got to eat breakfast, so I'll go pick something up from IHop, yeah?" Ash asks.
"That's fine. Do you need to sleep or something? I can take the couch?" I ask.
"No, I couldn't sleep if I tried. I think I'll just watch some TV or something. Read maybe." Ash muses.
"Here." I hand my laptop to her. "I have Steph's story saved on here. It's called 'Vital'."
"I'll read it, definitely." Ash says.
I walk into my bedroom and close the door. After stripping to my boxers, I crawl under the covers. My last thought before sleep takes over is that I wish Steph was here with me.
