Gemma's P.O.V.
After I hang up with Harry, I flop onto the fading floral couch facing the window in Mum's living room. I need to think.
I hope my talk with Stephanie did some good. I love Harry. And Stephanie seems like a nice girl, but sometimes you can never be too cautious. Harry went through a lot when dad passed. And since I transferred to a private fashion high school my freshman year, I haven't been there for him. I am so happy he's found a nice girl. He needs stability in his life and I think Stephanie can provide that for him. I still feel bad every time I catch a glimpse of Harry's wrists or tattoos.
My thoughts are interupted when a car rumbles up the drive. I pull myself together and get off the couch as Harry enters the house.
"Hey." He says giving me a half smile.
"We have got a lot of work to do." I sigh and sweep my arm around the room, cluttered with junk. The kitchen and bedrooms are all the same way.
"No shit." He mumbles and throws his jacket onto the couch.
Harry and I each pull a box off the couch and sit on the floor as we start to sift through it.
"So, what's the story with you and Stephanie?" I ask, throwing a blue foam stress ball in the shape of an anchor reading "BOOZE ON BOARD." Where does she get this stuff at?
"What do you mean the story?" He asks, tossing a framed picture reading "I've drank enough to tolerate you...speak now."
"I mean, what's going on. Like, I don't know. Just tell me about her." I say, getting frustrated with him.
"Why do you want to know?" He asks.
"For christ sakes Harold just tell me!' I shriek.
"Okay, okay, calm your tits." He says and holds up a pair of fake boobs reading what he has just said.
I laugh and then he starts in on telling me about Stephanie. "There's actually not all that much to tell." He shrugs.
"Do you love her?" I ask, looking down at a coffee mug reading "Life's a bitch. Oh wait..no that's you."
"Yeah." He says getting all red in the face.
"Okay next question, and maybe that answer will explain your previous one." I say, thinking this can't be real. I'm pretty sure Harry's only loved two people. Me and Mum. "Are you sleeping together?"
"NO, we would be if I had it my way. But Steph is insisting on waiting until marriage." He says. "Too bad I won't marry her."
"Harry you just said you loved her, why won't you marry her?" I ask.
"One, because I hate the whole concept of marriage and two, marriage leads to kids which I also hate." He says.
"Has anyone ever told you that you make perfect sense?" I ask.
"No?" He says, looking up to give me a funny look.
"This is why!" I say and throw a pillow at him that was embroidered with the saying "Forget the dog, beware of the kids."
"Oh would you just shut up!' he says and tosses the pillow into the get rid of box. "And where does she get all this shit?"
"Robin." I say in between a gasp of laughter.
Her house looks like a freaking toy store, there is crap everwhere, on all the shelves attached to the pink painted walls or sitting on whie end tables next to her pink ANYTHING!
"That lady is crazy." Harry chuckles. At least we agree on something.
