The Bad Boy

Chapter 73

Harry's P.O.V.

        We get down to the beach and Ally, Steph and Niall go out to boogie board. I sit on the edge of one of the chairs and dial Ashley's number.

        "Hello?" Ash says.

        "Hey Ash." I sigh.

        "I'm going to guess Gem told you and before you can say anything I have about a month to live, and I'm getting that out so we have no secrets. I'm going to die and you're going to get over it. Now stop sulking because I can picture you now." This makes me smile.

        "Damn you know me too well. How did this happen Ash?" I ask. "Are you still back home?"

        "I have absolutely no idea. I thought I just had, like, a bug or something that lasted a few weeks. And then we went to the doctor and found out I have leukemia. But anyways, no. I got a plane and landed in Indianapolis for some kind of stupid treatment that we all know won't work but my doctor insists." She says. "I have to stay in this stupid hospital for a couple of days, but I was hoping to come visit you."

        "That'd be great. I'd love for you to meet my new girlfriend." I say.

        "OOH! Hazza has a girlfriend! Don't tell me anymore until I get to see you in person, I want it to be a surprise." She says. She can be so weird.

        "You are so weird. Hey, I'm actually in Alabama at the beach right now with Niall and his girlfriend and my girlfriend...." She interupts me.

        "NIALLER HAS A GIRLFRIEND? PUT HIM ON!" She yelps.

        "NIALLLLLLL!" I yell. He notices me from the ocean, rides a wave in, and walks up to the chair.

        "What?" He asks.

        "Talk to Ash." I hand him the phone.

        His eyes widen and he takes the phone, sitting down next to me. They talk for what seems like forever, and at the very end, i can see NIall's eyes fill up right before they hang up.

        "She told you?" I ask.

        "Yeah." His head drops to his hand and  I can tell he's trying hard not to cry.

        I have to lie to him. "She's getting this new treatment in Chicago, it;s supposed to help AND she's coming to stay with us for awhile when we get home!"

        "OH MY GOSH!" He jumps up and hugs me.

        "Get off me you stupid leprochaun." I laugh.

Stephanie's P.O.V.

        When I look up from the ocean, I see Dipshit lunging to hug Harry who pushes him off and chuckles. He was talking on the phone again and he looked happier so I'm assuming he was talking to that Ash girl. Ally follows me out of the water and up to the chairs.

        "What's going on?" I ask, setting the boogie board in the sand in front of Harry and sitting down on it.

        "Oh! Ash is going to come and stay with us for a bit after we get back!" Niall says, his eyes gleaming with a child like excitement.

        "Ash?" Ally asks. I tune out their conversation as Niall explains who Ash is.

        "She's coming to stay with us?" I ask suspiciously.
