Stephanie's P.O.V.
Miles and I eat lunch at the buffet place before returning to the coffee store on the corner. We go in and get cups for the serve yourself coffee bar before finding a table in the back corner, inside a little cubby. We get our coffee and sit down.
"Talk to me." Miles says as I sip my coffee.
"I'm not so sure you want to know." I reply, looking down at my cup.
"Oh contrare, I most certainly do. So spill Miss frowny face." Miles urges.
"Okay, but you really don't know what you're getting into...." I warn Miles one last time, before dragging him even farther into the drama story that is my life.
Miles just sits there, looking at me expectantly. So, with a sigh, I tell him. Everything. Ally being pregnant, Harry...cheating on me. Miles face hardens when I talk about Harry, but then softens when I tell him why Harry caught me sneaking out this morning. It all seems so long ago...
"Wow." Miles says when I finally have nothing left to tell him.
"Tell me about it." I mutter.
"I can't believe Harry would do that to you." Miles shakes his head. "What an egotistic dirt ball."
"Did you just quote Pitch Perfect?" I ask, smiling.
"Yeah, guess it wasn't really the most approppriate time." Miles grimaces. "Sorry."
"It's okay." I assure him. "Helps lighten the mood."
"You shouldn't be so sad." Miles says suddenly.
"What?" I ask, who I thought was the love of my life cheated on me and never planned to tell me about it.
"You shouldn't be sad. Don't let him have that power over you." Miles explains.
"He cheated on me, and you're saying I should just be okay and move on with it?" I ask, trying to understand what he's saying, but the pieces aren't fitting together.
"No, you aren't supposed to okay with it. You'er just not supposed to be so sad. He shouldn't mean that much to you if he cheated on you." Miles says.
"So how should I feel then?" I ask, crossing my arms.
"Mad, you should get mad!" Miles declares.
"Yeah, right." I mutter.
"No, I'm serious. Get mad at him! It'll keep you from missing him." Miles grows quiet. "Trust me, I know."
