Chapter 124

Ashton's P.O.V.

We don't talk for the rest of the meal, meaning I totally ruined the lunch. I can't believe I didn't pick up on the whole "swiping her v card" thing. I can be such an idiot, and then on top of that I made a comment on how nice looking Harry's GIRLFRIEND was. I am such a f*** up.

As I think about this, I flash back to when we were meeting Ally and I went to shake her hand. I know Steph saw my scars, and I'm so grateful she didn't say anything......because Gem doesn't know. I'm going to tell her, I just don't know when and I know I'm hurting her by not tellling her because I AM SUCH A F*** UP! I swear I can't do anything right. I haven't even thought about this in such a long time.......

Harry's P.O.V.

"Hey, day dreamer, snap out of it." I spit at Ashton whos's staring off into space.

He shakes his head, curls flopping everywhere. "Sorry. And I'm really sorry about what I said about Steph too, I wasn't thinking and I know she's...."

I interupt. "Just shut up about it."

"Cmon Harry maybe you should forgive him. You are being a bit harsh," Niall whispers so Ashton can't hear.

I shake my head at him.

I get up and pick up all of my trash,"I'm going out to the car," I say and stalk off.

I know I probably shouldn't be such a dick to Ashton because 1) Steph sure isn't going to like it and 2) I'm stuck with him whether I like it or not. Not that any of those things are going to change my mind. Maybe he needs to be toughened up a bit anyways, he seems kind of like a pansy....

Niall's P.O.V.

"Is he always like this?" Ashton asks after Harry walks out.

"A hard ass?" I ask, then answer my own question. "Yeah, pretty much."

"Wow." Ashton shakes his head. "What's the deal with him and Stephanie? She seemed so nice and polite and he's, like you said, a bit of a hard ass."

"That, my friend, is something you do NOT want to get involved with." I tell him.

"Why not?" He asks.

"I can't even explain it. It's like this mix of Twilight and a Taylor Swift song." I shake my head and he laughs.

"Fair. I'll stay out of it." Ashton holds his hands up in surrender.

"So when are you guys going back?" Now it's my turn to ask questions.

"Tomorrow. Gemma was going to stay a couple extra days but with all of this stuff with Ally she's coming back with me tomorrow." He answers.

"Oh." I was hoping he'd be around for a while, just to have someone who knows what I'm going through. Harry's my best mate and all, but he couldn't understand, and he most likely never will. "We should get out to the car, Harry's probably getting impatient."

"Yeah." Ashton stands up and collects our trash before following me out of the resteraunt.

The car ride back to the hospital is awkward, but I doubt Harry notices because he's immune to feelings and doesn't have a conscience.
