Luna's POV:
"So, did you enjoy the concert, Luna?"
The question jarred me back to the present, as I had been lost in my thoughts, watching Hope interact with his band members without entirely hearing what they were saying. It had been spoken in a quiet voice and I realized it had come from JK. He was watching me shyly, truly looking like the youngest with his large brown eyes fixed on me, his cheeks full to bursting with food as he chewed and waited for me to answer. Quiet had fallen over the table as the other guys turned toward me now too, listening for my response, some of them still eating as they watched.
I suddenly felt slightly nervous, glancing at Hope. He was leaning back in his chair, a small smile on his face as he watched me. I could feel his warm hand on my back, his long fingers rubbing soothing patterns into it. I cleared my throat slightly.
"It was absolutely amazing, guys. Truly. The performance was at a level I've never seen from American artists, or any artists really. I was blown away. I could tell every detail was thought out and yet, you were all so effortless. Your stage presence and connection with the crowd were something I've never experienced, even at some of my favorite bands' shows," I took a sip of my drink and looked around a little, catching JK's eye. He was smiling a sweet smile his big chocolate eyes telling me to continue, so I went on, really getting into it now.
"And that's not even to speak of the songs themselves. Catchy of course, but not only that. Surprising and inspired melodies paired with creative flows and during no part of the songs did I have a chance to get bored or even complacent. They were so engaging and full of feeling. Not to mention all of your dancing and vocals. I expected in a group of your size for there to be a weaker voice, or a few members that tried to outshine the rest, but you all fit so well together and you're all unique and bring something amazing to the table. It was like watching art unfold before my eyes."
I took a breath and, realizing how long I had been talking as I came out of my remembrances, felt my face heat up and smiled abashedly. As always happened with me when asked about music or literature, my passion had won out over my nervousness and I'd gone way overboard. I was just realizing that a simple "it was great" or "I loved it" probably was what JK had been looking for.
All was quiet and the guys were all staring at me, not even eating anymore. I nervously looked around at Hope, but he was beaming at me. His fingers slid down to my knee and he clasped it reassuringly, sending goosebumps up my back in the process.
"Luna knows what she's talking about, too. She's gone to hundreds of concerts. She loves music," he said, still smiling at me affectionately.
"Sorry," I said, looking around quickly, but not meeting anyone's eyes but Hope's. Suddenly self-conscious, my voice got quiet again. "I kind of get carried away when I'm talking about music."
"Don't apologize."
I looked up and saw that it was Yoongi speaking, his voice low and steady. His intense, dark eyes were studying me, but unlike before, there was a considerable warmth to them this time and his mouth was slightly quirked in a smile. "That was probably one of the best compliments we've ever received."
I looked up at him in surprise and he smiled a true smile, showing all of his teeth and some of his gums. It completely changed his face and I smiled timidly back.
After a couple of seconds, he went on. "We all love making music and performing. We work hard. So hearing what we dedicate so much of ourselves too has been received in such a way, and by someone who wasn't even our fan, is truly an honor."
I blushed again, smiling up at him and then daring to look around at the other guys. Most of them were nodding in agreement. Next to Yoongi, JK's eyes were bright and he was still smiling that sweet smile and looking down shyly. Jin was blinking hard, his plump lips pressed together in a small grin. On Jin's other side, Namjoon's face had also relaxed into a smile as well, dimples showing in his cheeks and his eyes half-moons.
