8 - The Living Walker

Your POV.

Y/N: "So, how many walkers do you think James will help us get? Fifteen? A hundred? A thousand?"

AJ: (Clutches stomach) "Y/N, I don't-- Ow."

Y/N: "Gunshot wound?"

AJ: "It feels like someone pinched me from inside."

Y/N: "Here kiddo, Rest for a second."

AJ sits down on a rock.

AJ: "Y/N? I keep thinking... When Willy said all that stuff about Tenn before, I got so mad. He was being mean, and Tenn wasn't even there to defend himself. I wanted to hurt him. I know I shouldn't. But I just can't stop thinking about it. I wanna just... punch his head. I tried breathing, kicking rocks... I don't like this feeling. Wanting to hurt somebody. And Clem said some stuff about you feeling the same way..."

Y/N: (Confused) "Oh?"

AJ: "She said you hurt people a lot.. you hurt her once didn't you?.."

Y/N: "I made mistakes I shouldn't have. But I learned from them, it ain't happening again."

AJ: "Can I learn how to not want to hurt people?"

Y/N: "You can't really control thoughts like that.. but you can control your actions, so the next time you feel like kicking his ass take a few deep breaths and walk away."

he runs up to you wrapping his arms around your waist.

AJ: "Thanks Da- Y/N.."

Y/N: (Rubs his back) "It's okay AJ, if that's what you want me to be for you. I can do that."

AJ: "Thanks for being there.. Dad."

Y/N: "No problem Kiddo. (Laughs) Now we're probably going to Comedically play catch in the park with a baseball."

AJ: "I wouldn't mind." (Holds your hand while you both search for James)

You both run into some walkers, and hide. You pull out your Bat and sneak toward them, hiding behind a log.

AJ: "I don't see James. Just monsters."

James walks up behind you and clears his throat.

Y/N: "James?"

James puts his finger to his lips and you holster your bat. James grabs his injured arm.

AJ: "You're hurt."

Y/N: "raiders do this?"

James: "It looked like they... had people from your school. Why are you here?"

Y/N: "Those guys you saw, we're going to get them back. But in order to do that, we need your help moving some deadFolk."

James: "I could... maybe help, but... my mask is still in the camp. Inside my bag. I can't pass through a herd without it."

Y/N: "Okay, then let's go get it."

James: "Please, I just... I just ask that you don't kill them. The walkers. If you distract them, I can sneak over and find my mask."

AJ: "Distract all of them?"

James: "Please."

Y/N: "I'll try."

James sneaks away. You jump over the log, and the walkers approach you. You stun all of them. Then you and AJ run up to James.

Y/N: "I don't know how long I can keep this up. Did you find it?"

James: "I can't find it. The horses must've... There!"

James points to his bag, which is near more walkers.
