After a few more minutes of cackling about nothingness, we eventually calmed down. "Oh—hohoho," said George as he wiped a streaming tear. "Wow, it has been a while since I have laughed that much."
As I nod in approval, Clay and Sapnap did also. Then it hit me. "Wait, what time is it?" All of them looked at me and tilted their head up to gaze at the sun, syncing as they did.
"It's, uh, an hour until noon," answered Sapnap. I stared in bewilderment. Noon already?! This can't be right!
"Are you sure? Are you actually sure that it's noon? Eh, what time did the war end?" Clay nodded, "To answer your first two questions: yes. And the war ended, like what, an hour after sunrise? Did it?" He then looked at the two men for confirmation, and they pondered for a bit and nodded.
"See?," he said nonchalantly. So that means.... "It was midnight when I ran through the halls, blah, blah, blah. So I have been sleeping for, two, three, four, alalala..." I counted and as my calculation had been set, I was bewildered. "I have been unconscious for ten hours?!"
George shooked his head and stated, "Correction, you have been unconscious for three hours. You have just slept off the war."
Eh?
"Eyy?!? You're telling me I SLEPT through the war?! That can't be true!"
"S'true." Sapnap answered. "When we needed to be patched up, we came here shortly to see your state. And before you ask: yes, we knew you were sleeping because you turned around when we decided to wake you up."
"Oh.." was all I could muster. Oh! Eww... I stood up from the bed and gave them a curtsy when they asked where I was going. I called out, "Anne!"
-------
That was refreshing. I had finished taking a nice dip after being slightly covered in dried blood that Anne failed to wash off last night.
And then an hour long meeting was commenced, discussing about the plans regarding about the war's aftermath. It was then I knew, Sapnap is leaving tomorrow along with George, so for today, they can rest before marching back to their own kingdoms.
That coursed sadness within me. It's too early for them to leave but they have duties and so do I, so I have no choice but to follow.
As the meeting ended, I had met up with the Duke.
"Hello. Good noon to you, Duke Philza," I greeted with a curtsy. Him and his two sons stooped into a bow as he greeted, "Good noon to you too, Princess Y/N." Wow, Lord Wilbur and Lord Technoblade aren't a bunch of talkers in formal meetings, I bet.
"What is it that you want to discuss? If you like, we could have tea," I suggested but he waved it off and said, "No, no, it's fine. We won't be long. I just wanted to know how my son is working on in here." That made the silent elder brothers look at their father.
"I hope he is not much of a hassle," Lord Wilbur spoke up with his sing-song voice. His posture limped as he scratched his chocolate-brown hair, "I mean, he is quite..."
"Annoying?" and there, another beloved monotone voice spoke up. The Duke turned around to glare at his tall, pink-haired son. Lord Technoblade's broad figure just shrugged off his father's look and returned him a look as if he's making a point with his stoic face and blood-red eyes, "What? It is true."
Duke Philza awkwardly chuckled and said, "Forgive me–."
"Oh no, no, no. It's fine, really. And regarding Tommy, he's been fine. He seems to be alright when he is with his friends."
"Oh!," they all said in sync. They must be surprised to hear Tommy behaving like that. "Wow," Philza muttered. "That's surprising since he never listens to what we've been telling him." Ah, I got that one right.
I smiled warmly, "Well, you don't have to worry about him. He is in great care." They seem to be relieved when I said that and bowed to bid goodbye. "Well, thank you, Princess. We must be going now. I hope we didn't trouble you or of some sorts."
"Oh, please. It's fine. Goodbye then, Duke Philza, Lord Wilbur and Lord Technoblade."
-------
It was night time and everybody is still busy tending what needs to be tending and there is me, walking towards the dungeons to visit the boys with sweets in the basket.
Of course, Tubbo managed to lighten up the mood everytime and Tommy and Ranboo would only smile at their energy-filled friend.
Ranboo, as usual, is quiet. Jokes came along once in a while and sometimes burns himself with his own tears when he laughs way too hard.
And as I told Tommy that his family talked to me earlier and was wondering how's he been, Tommy being Tommy, acted tough and said, "They should have known by now that I am actually doing pretty damn good down here!" But you can actually see beads of tears at the corner of his ocean blue eyes.
There, our evening was, once again, filled with laughter.
And in the following morning, a bittersweet feeling came to me as I hug Sapnap and George goodbye as they leave for their kingdoms. Confetti's where thrown their way as to serve the gratitude the people felt. And then, the lonely, boring days awaits.
