"You know too much."

-~:~-

"I- Why would I lie?" you asked, absolutely flabbergasted.

"You have no recorded history," Nick Fury said, intimidating as ever, "and it just so happens that HYDRA was after that file. How do we know you aren't one of them just spying?"

"Bu- But Peter knew me way before all this, you can ask him."

"You could've manipulated him into thinking that way."

You looked around the room, trying to find support on any of the faces but they were as hard as stone. You gaped with disbelief. "Really? Really? Fine," you looked at everyone challengingly, "I'll prove it."

Without waiting for an answer, you grabbed one of your brainwaves, floating in the air, and made it visible to everyone. "You see this?" you asked, keeping as calm as you possibly could. They gave no reaction so you pulled up the time from half an hour ago, when you just arrived in your room.

You showed them your memory, basically a video, from the point the alarm went off to the point you got outside. "See?" you asked. "I wasn't involved!"

"How do we know you're not faking it?" Cap asked.

You had the urge to roll your eyes. "No one can fake memories. Sure, they can be blocked and partly or completely erased but they can't be changed."

Nick Fury narrowed his eyes at you. "Alright, Y/n," he said, emphasizing your name as a way of showing that he doubted if that was your name. "You have the benefit of the doubt."

He turned around to leave but stopped one more time. "But I'm watching you. And Stark." Tony looked at him. "Find that file."
