He turned himself around now facing her, her head low and muffled sobs lefting her lips second by second. She was so hurt.
"Alethea.." He called her same softly, she looked at his chest as it was in-front of her face. She couldn't look into his eyes with her teary ones, he gulped hard before speaking after a long break while she waited.
"My life was completely changed after my 8th birthday, my real father died on that day in a car accident. After that my maternal family pressurized my mother to marry– Jacob mendez," he paused.
"i have never had a good relationship with my step-father or my step-brother; Andrew. They used to taunt me and they still do, i started to hate myself, i started to blame my mother that she shouldn't marry Jacob Mendez." he added and smiled a sadly, "what about alba?" Alethea asked.
"She was the only one who cared about me, that's why i see a mother and a sister in her." he said smiling but this time it was deep and meaningful, his eyes had moisture already.
"I see." she said and turned herself to the railing, his eyes at her face furrowed, "what?" Maverick asked confused, "you hate your step-father and you must also hate everything that belongs to him, and when you got to know that I'm the daughter of his dearest friend," she paused and looked up into his eyes.
"so you wanna stay away from me." she completed herself with a small sad smile.
Maverick looked down at his formal shoes, as he was embarassed to look into her eyes anymore, but she kept her eyes at his face.
"I will not force you to stay with me, because i don't want you to suffer more," she exhaled a deep breath and wiped her eyes, "but lastly i would like to tell you, it's not a— not a solid reason to distant distant yourself away from me, Maverick." with that she turned around to walk downstairs.
Maverick looked at her walking away figure but couldn't stop her, as he was so embarrassed about himself, a tear finally escaped his eye as the other one was about to fall he looked up at the sky to prevent it not to fall.
'But lastly i would like to tell you, it's not a— not a solid reason to distant yourself away from me, Maverick.'
her words repeated in his head making him hit the waiting with his already wounded knuckles, just to let out a groan.
'My life was completely changed after my 8th birthday, my real father died on that day in a car accident. After that my maternal family pressurized my mother to marry– Jacob mendez,'
'I have never had a good relationship with my step father or my step-brother; Andrew. They used to taunt me in they still do, I started to hate myself I started to blame my mother, that she shouldn't marry Jacob Mendez.'
Maverick's words echoed in her head as she walked downstairs at the hall, she couldn't hear the jazz music playing there in a low volume, she just made her way with her teary eyes towards the exit, she sat in her car and told the driver the drive back home without informing granny or her father.
she cried once she reached her lonely home and told the driver to go back to the party and inform granny and William that she was home already as she wasn't feeling well.

11:34pm, the party was already ended, Maverick entered his bedroom after having hard time meeting the guests as the words of Alethea kept repeating in his head making him feel so embarassed and sad.
He locked his door, and ran to open the balcony after taking his blazer off and threw it across the room somewhere, he rolled his sleeves up and stood by the railing of the balcony.
He light up his cigrette and sucked the smoke in, making his head to go a bit relaxing. His eyes were still teary.
The little Maverick was about 5 years old sitting in the lap of his father while his mother was sitting on the couch in-front and chopping the vegetables while talking to her mother on the call.
"Daddy?" Maverick called his father, "Yes, young man?" His father asked smiling at his son, "is it necessary to make friends?" he questioned, "hm, yeah." Maverick looked up at his father.
"why?" , "Because when we are sad or not feeling well, then we can share our problems with them, and they will understand well because they are the same age as yours," Henry paused, "your mommy and me were first friends and then in no time i started loving her." Henry said admiring his wife bella while she didn't notice.
"Is friendship means love, daddy?"
"Yes, it is, we should never loose friends who cares about us, who understand our conditions, who don't get mad when we become frustrated instead they try to calm us down and give us time to calm ourselves." Henry told the little Maverick.
"I will be a good friend, and i will make a friend like mommy." The little one said excitedly, his father chuckled, "I'm sure, you will." Said Henry proudly.
Maverick sat down at the balcony cold floor, ane bursted hard into tears.
"what should I do, dad? What should i—" maverick couldn't even complete his sentence instead he bursted into tears.
