Maverick walked inside the university, wearing black long coat over grey t-shirt and black jeans with black converse. His knuckles were bandaged because of last night, his eyes were cold with no emotion in them.
He entered the locker room and his eyes met the standing figure of Alethea as she was taking her books out from her locker, his Adam's apple moved as his throat became dry after thinking what he had said to her yesterday.
Alethea locked her locker and turned around just to see Maverick's back facing her as he was taking his books out. She sighed deeply before walking upstairs towards the classroom.
Everything went just like the way it used to be before Alethea didn't knew who was Maverick and Maverick didn't knew who was Alethea, Maverick had a kind of regret in his heart but the hate of him for his step-father always stopped him from talking to Alethea.
It wasn't a solid reason to act this rude towards her, but he was so into hatred with his step-father.
Alethea was now sitting in the cafeteria sipping her coffee when suddenly a tap on her table made her look up to see who it was and the person just made her eyes roll.
"May i sit?" he asked, it was andrew. He sat without even letting Alethea to give permission, "Aren't you with Maverick anymore?" he asked with a smirk, she looked right into his eyes with her half opened ones in annoyance.
"we were never together." She said shrugging her shoulders off, "woah! you meant what you said?" Alethea raised her right eyebrows at him, "actually i mean when you fainted, he took you to the nursing room and he was there till the check-up was going and now you're saying you both were never together, aish, girl don't fool me." Andrew smirked at the end.
"im not interested in making an already fool person a fool." she smirked sarcastically while Andrew's friends controlled their laughs as Andrew glared them.
"don't waste my time, Andrew as well as yours." she said standing up and hanging her bag, he also stood up. "i knew, a girl like you, pretty, smart and what not, can never fall for a fool and looser like Maverick." He laughed making Alethea turn around and glare at him.
why? why? why she glared? why does she care about if someone says bad about Maverick?
as Alethea entered the corridor she bumped into Maverick and his friend Kavin. Alethea looked at Maverick and he looked at her but he walked away from there leaving Kavin and Alethea alone.
Alethea watched him walking away, her eyes landed on his palm which was wrapped with a white cloth looked like band-aid.
"He didn't want to say whatever he said." she looked in-front after hearing Kavin, "i don't care about—" , "he is regretting about yesterday, look at his knuckles, whenever he gets frustrated he start to harm himself and the injury he have right now is from yesterday." He said cutting Alethea off.
"why did he say all those things to me? I don't care about him." Alethea said and she was about to walk away when she heard Kavin say, "he have a reason." But she didn't stop.
Alethea came out from the campus and called her driver to get her, when she was standing there her eyes caught a figure standing at her left it was Jane.
Alethea looked here and there to make sure if any of her classmates were there but there was no one, Alethea walked towards her mother with angry eyes.
"why are you here?" She gritted, Jane smiled and said, "i want to have lunch with you—" , "yesterday was our last meeting, and i don't want to meet you again!" Alethea gritted again in anger and had tears in her eyes.
"i know you're suffering Alethea, william never treated you well." Jane said sympathizing, "I'm not suffering, I'm fine! Go away." she said with tears in her eyes and turned around to sit in her car as it arrived.
"Alethea.." her mother called her but she didn't turn back, when she was about to sit in her car, her eyes met Maverick standing with furrowed eyebrows, her tears flow down from her eyes as she sat in her car and drove away.
Maverick looked at the lady with whom Alethea was talking just, he was confused that who was that lady. Before he could go to her, he saw a young girl running towards the lady, the girl went to her from the university.
"mom." the girl called the lady mother, and they both sat in the car and drove away.
