sitting at the garden glass, which was cold at midnight, Andrew was staring at the moon in his pyjamas. his lips had a small curve which indicates that he was smiling but it wasn't happy ones but a wondering ones.

"Andrew and Alba, meet them, from now on the little boy is your brother and the lady is your mother, understand?" Jacob told the young children standing beside their father and in-front of 8 years old Maverick and a not so much old lady.

Alba and Andrew took Maverick to their bedroom for a visit and also gave him a tour of their big luxury house.

"Maverick is your name, right?" 13 years old Alba asked the little boy who was looking reserved a bit or maybe  uncomfortable with new kids, "yes." he answered, "it's pretty long, uhm- can we call you rick?" she asked him, Maverick looked up at her who was smiling.

he smiled seeing the girl so good to him, "okay." Maverick said smiling when suddenly the Andrew pushed Maverick behind which made Maverick fell on the floor, making Alba gasp in surprise.

"why you did that, drew!?" she shouted at her younger brother, "why are you talking to him! He is not our brother! He's a step brother." Little Andrew yelled out of jealousy while Maverick just kept staring at the young boy with worried eyes.

"Shut up, you're being so stubborn." Alba scolded Andrew, "rick, let's go I'll show you, your room." with that Alba and Maverick walked out from the bedroom leaving Andrew alone angry.

Andrew smiled sadly and sighed as tears escaped from his eyes, thinking how spoilt he was.

"Andrew?" a soft voice was heard by the crying male, he looked up behind himself and saw his stepmother standing in just a thin woolen shrug which wouldn't help her to fight back with the cold outside.

"what are you doing here?" he asked the lady, he never ever called her 'mom'. "i just saw you sitting here from the kitchen window, i came for water." Bella informed him, "are you okay? you seemed sad." she asked him concerned.

"N-no, I'm okay, we should go inside, it's cold." With that he walked inside the house avoiding the lady to see his tears.

Bella entered her bedroom and saw her husband coming out from the bathroom wearing his night suit, he sat down in the bed while she put the glass of water on his side table and stood in-front of him.

"you wanna say something?" Jacob asked her, after seeing that she was standing there and staring him for some seconds straight. "Jacob, i think you shouldn't force Andrew to get married to—" poor bella though Andrew was sitting in the garden just because he was stressed and didn't want to marry Alethea but actually he was worried about what he had done with Maverick with Jacob.

"I know what's right and what's wrong, you should not interfere." Jacob cut his wife off and scolded her before laying under the blanket to sleep.

Andrew was sitting in-front of Alethea for past five minutes until Alethea sighed and spoke, "do you really want to say something or just wasting our both time?" said rudely, Andrew gulped before shaking his head in no.

"do you know why are we here?" Andrew asked her, she looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. "because my father wants me to be friends with you instead of your step-brother." she said rolling her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest and looked out from the window.

"so you don't know." He mumbled but Alethea didn't heard him, "Alethea, i know that it would be weird and i think your father didn't want to tell you about this but according to me, you should know about it." she frowned in confusion.

"what do you mean?"

after a big gulp Andrew spoke, "your father and my father wants us to get married," she gasped in disbelief, "but i don't want to build my home after ruining my someone's home." Andrew gave an idiom for her to understand but she wasn't getting what he meant to say as she frowned in confusion.

"me and Maverick never had a good relation since he came to our house at the age of 8, but i don't want to ruin his whole life by snatching the most loving thing from his life, he never wished to have anything from dad because he knew dad would scold him and later bought him the thing but after breaking his heart.." Andrew sniffed as he was crying.

"Maverick was always so good, bad was me. and i kept seeing what my father wanted me to see, when i told him that im going to marry you because i wanted to tease him but instead of fighting back he smiled and walked away." Andrew chuckled wiping his tears off.

"he is so dumb, he never fight, because his fight was with himself." said Andrew.

"why didn't he tell me about that he loves me, and he keeps ignoring me." whinned Alethea, "he must be scared of getting rejected because everyone kept rejecting him since childhood, or maybe he was scared of—" Andrew paused, "of?" She asked.

"—my father." completed Andrew sadly and embarassed.
