the door of Maverick's bedroom opened in a jerk by Alba, her facial expressions were worried and flushed as if she had seen something a human shouldn't be seeing but she was just seeing her loved step-brother sitting in his bed and playing video game on the television.
"YEAH!" he screamed as the television showed that he won the game, he turned his head to his sister and smiled at him widely.
"what's up?" he asked playfully standing up, and he walked towards his bedside table and put the video game remote controller in the drawer before turning to his sister again just to see her staring at him with furrowed eyebrows.
"why are you so quiet as if you have seen something scary!" Maverick laughed after exclaiming, she walked a bit closer to him and made him look up into her eyes immediately and held his arm tightly.
"You're scaring me now." she said in a low voice making his smile fade, he sat down in-front of her while she was still standing staring at his face. "if not pretending to be glad what should I do?" he asked raising his head to look at her.
"Andrew and Alethea are at their first meeting." he nodded his head in yes, "aren't you gonna do something?" he kept quiet.
"i think I don't deserve her, she doesn't even know if i have feelings for her because im a loser that's why i could not confess." He chuckled at himself making fun of himself, Alba sighed in sympathy. "what do you think, will Andrew confess her to get married to him even though he knows that you love her?" she asked.
Maverick shrugged his shoulders as he didn't knew, "i don't have any expectations from him, and i don't want to expect anything from him either." he said before the door of his bedroom again knocked by the maid, when the door was already opened.
"sir Maverick, sir Kavin is sitting in the drawing room, he wants to meet you." with that the maid left and Maverick too, leaving Alba alone standing with sad face and broken heart.
"oh, hey dude!" Maverick exclaimed while giving a quick hug to Kavin, "how are you?" Kavin asked Maverick, "perfectly perfect." Kavin laughed at Maverick's words after which they both went and sat in Maverick's motorbike and drove towards their usual café.
after taking a sip from his coffee Maverick asked Kavin, "how was your trip?" Kavin nodded his head before gulping the coffee, "we had fun, tell me about yourself." Kavin said smirking, making Maverick frowned in confusion.
"how's your and Alethea's friendship going?" Kavin asked Maverick, after gulping the coffee casually before looking at his friend, who was right now smiling like an idiot. "Are you okay?" , "Uhm- yah, i don't think that we were friends." said maverick like nothing's weird in his words and just sipped his coffee.
Kavin had an idea that something was rushing wrong between Alethea and Maverick while Kavin was out with his family on a trip in winter holidays from university.

suddenly Alethea stood up while pushing her chair behind by the force of the back of her knees, and Andrew also stand up after seeing her standing.
"i need to meet Maverick right now." she announced before turning to the left to exit the table but Andrew stopped her, "where are you gonna find him?" she looked at him with confused eyes, "i don't think that he would be at home." they both stared at each-other blankly.
"ah, let me call Alba." said Andrew while taking out his phone from his pocket and dialling the number of his sister, Alethea also focused his eyes on him while he was impatiently waiting for his sister to pick up his call.
"Hello—" , "sister, where's Maverick?" Asked Andrew after cutting his sister off, "he could be with Kavin." informed Alba, "oh gosh, thank you, I'll call you later." with that Andrew hung the call in a hurry.
"where's he?"
"with Kavin."
"And where are they?"
"i don't know." said Andrew after placing the phone near his ear as he has dialled Kavin's number.

Kavin's phone rang up suddenly making him put the coffee cup on the table and check on the caller ID, it read Andrew. "Excuse me?" Maverick nodded and Kavin went away from Maverick to pick up the call.
"yes, Andrew?" Kavin asked after picking up the call, "is Maverick with you?" asked Andrew worriedly and impatiently, "yeah, but is everything okay?" suddenly Kavin felt that someone had snatched away the phone from Andrew and soon he heard Alethea.
"where are you both?" she asked immediately with her casual cold voice, "we are at the beach's Peter cafe." , "I'm coming there, don't you dare to let Maverick move." with that she hung the call.
Kavin was shocked about what was happening, but he will surely obey Alethea about what she had told him to do; to not let Maverick move away from there.

Alethea handed over the phone back to Andrew before looking at him for the last time before leaving the restaurant and sitting in his car after kicking out the driver that her father had sent to her.
she drove fast towards the cafe where Kavin had told her, they were. she just wanted to clear out the things before it gets too late, she didn't want to loose someone special again after loosing her mother.
while on the other hand, andrew sighed deeply after finding silence around him. he glanced over the coffee cup of Alethea which was untouched. he smiled internally after finding out that there was still a good Andrew inside of him, maybe.
