after tying her shoelaces she was ready to head university, it only had been two years of her being in the university after the school. she didn't make much friends and also she don't prefer making much.
checking herself in the mirror for the last time even when she didn't want to put on the make-up girls do in universities, she just prefer a bit to look natural even when she didn't care.
"Miss, Madam is calling you at the breakfast." A maid informed from the outside of the room of Alethea, "yeah, I'm hungry, coming." Alethea told her and she went down.
grabbing her phone and hanging her bag, she was about to walk out from the room but just then her phone ringing made her stop.
she checked it and it was unknown, after sighing she picked it up, 'who would be calling at 9am?' she thought before placing the phone near her ear.
"hello?" said Alethea confusingly with furrowed eyebrows, "hello?" she again called as there was no response from the other side, after groaning she was about to take it out from her ear but just then a lady spoke from the other side making her off guards.
"A-Alethea.." 'how does she know my name?' thinking, she was confused.
"who are you?" Alethea inquired the stranger lady, and knitted her brows after hearing a sniffle from the other side as if the lady was crying.
"i-i'm J-Jane." Alethea's lips apart from each-other and she gulped, her hands were sweaty after hearing the most familiar name, she couldn't process the words to speak back.
"h-how are you, ale-" , "how dare you call me!" Alethea tried to act bold while raising her voice at the lady, and heard some hard sobs from the other side. "Alethea-" , "No!" Alethea raised her voice, "Don't call me again." with that she hung the call up.
"where's mommy, granny? i want her." little girl whinned while laying in her bed under the baby pink blanket.
"sweetie, why need her when I'm here, hm?" the lady in her fifties said while caressing the little one's hair, "where's mommy but?" the little one: Alethea asked, "she went to her friend, now sleep like a good girl." said granny.
while the little Alethea nodded and slept cuddling her granny.
thinking all this, present alethea's eyes couldn't prevent themselves to not tear up, and when she heard a knock at the door she wiped the tears off immediately and saw the door opening revealing granny in her sixties.
"Granny, why are you here?" Alethea asked trying not to show that she was crying, "you weren't coming, so i thought checking you up." Granny said while looking into alethea's eyes deeply.
"i-i'm not hungry, granny. i should go to university now." Alethea said avoiding making eye contact with the beautiful old lady, and pecking her head, Alethea walked out from the room as fast as possible.
'now you've started to lie, Alethea.' granny said to herself in her mind, with a small smile on her lips.
wiping tears while sitting in the car which was taking her to the university, she was so broken up, hearing the lady she would never wanted to meet again.
she didn't want to lie to granny, but if she had told her about this then, granny would be worried about Alethea.
'i hate mom.'
These were the words she said to herself in her head after wiping her tears for the last time.
