"Morning, sleeping beauty." The sweet voice cut through the haze of sleep and I forced my eyes open. She looked so refreshed and bright in the mornings, I didn't. I blinked at her a few times in an attempt to get my brain to catch up with the world. She smiled at me, I scanned her over, she was in a robe and was holding a mug of coffee. "It's for you," She tells me with the sweetest chuckle. "Thanks," I say, my voice scratchy and dry as it always was in the mornings. I sat up completely before taking the mug. She disappeared but returned soon after with her own mug of coffee, I picked up the blanket and she slipped under it before I dropped it back over her lap.

"You're adorable when you're half asleep by the way," She tells me and I rolled my eyes. Jazz says the same thing, she calls me a "pouty toddler" which she's not wrong but don't call a girl out. "Your sofa is comfy," I defended. "How would you know you slept hanging off it?" She teased me and I mimicked her like the pouty toddler I am.

"How did you sleep?" I asked before taking a large gulp of coffee. I didn't use to drink coffee but since working with the twins it's what fuels me. I can't function without a mug in the morning that is closely followed by another cup as soon as I get to work. Though I could last longer than the twins without one. "Soundly... The rain is soothing at night," She told me and I nodded agreeing. "There's something cosy about it," I voice my thoughts from last night. "When you're all wrapped up." I nodded before laying my head on the back of the sofa and closing my eyes. "Not a morning person?" "I am... I've just not been sleeping much recently." "Why not?" "Family stuff." "Sage or Atlas?" I tried not to cringe at his name. "Sage... Plus I had been staying with Jazz too so late nights are a must." "Clearly because you're still in high school and sleepovers have no sleeping in them." I didn't have the energy to come up with some smart remark about her age and how she needs her sleep right now so I left her comment hanging in the air.

"You should take today off." "I'm good. I just need like three more of these," I told her pointing to my mug. "You and me both." We remained in silence whilst we drank our coffee. She flicked through a magazine and I used my remaining battery to tell Sage I was alive and well. Not that he'd even know I wasn't home. "I should head out if I'm going to be on time to work." "I have clothes." I laughed loudly at her comment. "Your clothes will not fit me. You're like a pocket-sized elf." "Real nice, B. Real nice." I couldn't stop laughing. "Not my fault you're a giant." "Polly pocket." "Rude!" She exclaimed her voice going so high pitched it cracked a little. I took that as a win. "No, I have clothes that will fit you... Lizzie has left stuff here, she's about your height, maybe a tad shorter because you can touch the sky." "And the stars, baby." She shoved me using her foot. "I could report you to HR for that." "I am HR bitch." "That's unethical, Mary-Kate," I say in a studious tone. "You're in my house, HR can't do anything." "Shall we find out?" I challenged her so she shoved me again. I laughed it off calling her immature as I stood to use the bathroom.

I washed my face, ridding it of the day-old makeup before going back out to the lounge. MK had topped my mug up with more coffee which I needed. I sat back down and picked my phone up to see if Sage had replied, I had no faith that he would have his 6 am, is at 2pm. I was correct to assume he hadn't replied but Jazz had messaged me asking to meet up at lunch, I of course said yes, we've only met up twice on my lunch break since I started work. It normally occurs when she's had a rough morning at work and needs to vent before she gets herself fired. She loves her job so lunch is essential. "I'm going to Lunch with Jazz, do you want me to bring you something from Little moon or do you want me to get your order from the place across the street?" I asked MK as I texted Jazz making a plan to meet. "I'll just have my normal." "Okay." I swap my phone for my coffee and we continue to adjust to being awake slowly over our second cup of coffee. The chatter was kept to a minimum. I knew MK was nervous about today, she was fidgeting already and her eyes wouldn't settle but I didn't say anything. She'd talk if she needed to.
