Chapter 21

Later, Ness had to go home but since I had plans with Jayden I stayed at the mall. I waited for him patiently at the fountain of the mall. He said that he’ll be here in fifteen. I just hope nothing came up so that he wouldn’t be late.

To kill time while waiting, I watched people pass by me or sometimes sit with me at the fountain. I particularly watched cute couples. Some of them were shy in public and some of them were in full force showing public display of affection. But I noticed similarities to each of them. Each couple had a glint of love and happiness in their faces. I wonder if both Jayden and I looked like them when we’re together. Did this kind of affection last for long? How long had they’ve been with each other? Can Jayden and I last longer than them? Or can we make it till forever?

Silly question right? Because it will always depend on the people whose in the relationship. If you’ll ask me, of course I’d love our relationship to last no matter what. I was thankful that Jayden was the one pushing me to continue our relationship despite its challenges. Challenges like my guardians, people who wanted him like Jessie and people who wanted him for something else. The last thought just made me shiver so I deleted that part. I just hope that that won’t even take part in our lives. I just hope he won’t get tired of fighting for what we have, of us.

I’ve been thinking of a lot of things and didn’t notice that an hour already passed. There was still no sign of Jayden so I decided to text him. I was about to open a new message for him when someone snatched Sammy.

“Hey!” I shouted and was immediately relieved seeing that a handsome smirking guy had my phone. “Jayden quit fooling around. Give me back Sammy.” I whined.

“Pissed already sweetie pie?” he smirked lowering his face on my level while I seated on the fountain’s side.

“Why shouldn’t I be?” I snapped biting my lower lip trying to stop myself from smiling.

I knew I sounded stupid but once I laid eyes on him, I couldn’t hide the fact that I was happy seeing him after spending the whole day with Ness alone. I admit I missed him. He had been out with the guys today since they decided to buy clothes as well and play rounds of basketball. I didn’t want him to see what I was buying so I pushed him to go with the guys and he obediently obliged.

“You should be happy that I am now here.” he smiled his perfect smile making my insides melt. “What do you want me to do for you to forgive me?” he said with his best pouting face. He was just so adorable that I couldn’t even stay mad at him. But that didn’t mean that I couldn’t fake being mad right?

“First give me back my phone.” I ordered and he pushed my phone on the right pocket of my jeans.

“There, what else sweetheart?” he asked taking me aback with the word ‘sweetheart’.

“S-sweetheart?” I stammered.

“Yeah, you didn’t even know you have a sweet heart? I know you do since I know you don’t have the bad heart to hate me being late.” He smirked pompously making me flick his forehead.

“Fine. But don’t get too proud of yourself. You’re head’s getting bigger every second it might explode.” I teased.

“So you like me calling you sweetheart?” he smiled hopefully.

“Hmmm. Yeah. But it’s too long. How about…TartTart is good right?” I asked him over my lashes. He remained silent so I tried to explain how I came with the nickname Tart. “Uhm…It came from sweetheart too. I just eliminated some letters then it became Tart!”
