*Jayden's POV*
My body felt heavy and so did my eyes. I heard whispers and realized I was lying on a bed. I groaned feeling a piercing pain on my chest. Then I felt a hand on mine. It squeezed mine and it seemed to be a small hand. I have this hope in me that that hand belonged to my girl, Luthien.
Luthein. Where was she? Was she okay? The last time I saw her...she was shot and that should be me. I blinked my eyes open and closed it again immediately. The light in the room was so bright. This time I slowly cracked my eyes open as it adjusted to the light.
"Thank goodness, hon!" I heard a familiar voice beside my bed. All I saw in the room was white, except for the clothes of a kid and a woman's. Damen and Mom. "How are you feeling?" she asked me. Lines of worry formed on her face.
I tried to say water but I coughed feeling my throat dry that it slightly hurt for me to talk. "Oh, right. Here." Mom put a straw on a glass of water as I sipped it down. I was so thirsty. She smiled and squeezed my hand again.
"W-What happened?" I asked quietly gaining my voice back.
"You were out for two days, hon. You were sedated and put into sleep for two days to recover." She smiled sheepishly. "You were violent whenever your awake, I'm so sorry. They just needed you to be calm and rest or else you'll get worse."
"What happened to me?" I tried seating up as I winced and gasped for air once I felt sharp pains on my chest. No actually not only in my chest but on my whole body.
"Don't force yourself Jayden." My mom warned. "Or you'll get drugged again."
"Since I'm awake, that'll be my decision to make." I rolled my eyes.
"Jayden, you got beaten so bad. You broke three of your ribs, your head was bleeding and you got bruises all over you. The doctor was surprised how you managed to carry Luthien to the ER and how you managed to be conscious all throughout. You should've been dead. But it was a plain miracle that you didn't passed out and I'm thankful for that."
I stared at my teary eyed mom as I let the information to sink in me. "In short, I almost died?"
"Not really Jay, but yeah, you're getting there..." she said swiftly wiping her teary eyes. She pushed a red button at the top of my bed and immediately came a nurse. "He's awake, can you please call the doctor for us?" my mom requested.
"Sure Mrs. Owen. But let me check him first alright?" my mom nodded as the nurse started checking on my IV that I didn't even noticed. He also checked the bandages on my torso and got my blood pressure. He went out and called for the doctor.
Soon the doctor came in with a soft smile. He checked my slightly swollen eyes, the bandage, my arms, legs and everything else he needed to check. He smiled to me and my mom, "You're actually good now compared the first time I saw you. Just give yourself some time to heal and rest. Do you feel any pain right now?" he asked.
"Yeah, a little bit every time I take deep breaths." I replied trying it and wincing in pain in the end.
"That's normal for a person who broke three of his ribs. Good thing it didn't hit anything inside. I'll send the nurse back to give you some painkillers through your IV, alright?"
I nodded and he went outside. "Mom, where's Luthien?" She glanced at me nervously. Her eyes went down on the floor and shook her head sadly. "I'll let the guys come in here and explain to you, alright?"
"Then let them in." I said eagerly as she sighed. I wanted to know where she was. If only I could stand up and go to wherever she was. Drake came in with a cast on his arm. He smiled at me and sat on the chair beside my bed.
