Chapter 14

Today was a Monday on which I had my classes on Environmental Science (EnviSci) this morning then now was Commercial Cooking (ComCo) and after lunch will be Fundamentals in Accounting (FunAct). “Good job Luthien.” Ms. Victoria, our ComCo professor, praised me as she read my report and requirements for the subject. “You’re the first one to submit and since we had a deal, you’ll be exempted for the finals.”

“Oh, thanks!” I said happily and walked back to my seat. I was pretty proud of myself to be able to finish everything four days before the deadline. I also completed some of my requirements in Fundamentals in Accounting and Bar Management. Those went good as well despite the part wherein I got sick and spent almost all of my time with Jayden and the others. Well, I don’t regret the times spent with the guys because it made me a lot more inspired to finish my uni works. I believe that’s how driven I was to finish requirements early and that’s how I took every subject, not just my major but also my minor subjects seriously.

The bell rang as a cue for the end of the period as Ms. Victoria spoke, “Class! Don’t forget that the passing of requirements are ongoing till Friday, please inform those who weren’t around. Besides from our class, you can submit your requirements at the faculty on my table. If you won’t be able to catch up with my deadline see you next semester with this same subject.”

The other students answered in unison a “Yes Ma’am” to her and started gathering their things to rush out of the classroom for lunch. Ness and the guys were not around although Jayden left me a message that he was needed at the farm since Mr. Watson wasn’t around. I guess it’s just me today.

As I stepped outside the classroom a hand swiftly grabbed my forearm to the side. “Hey you!”

“Ness!” I greeted her quite shocked.

“Yeah, want to have lunch with me?” she asked smiling while hugging some of her books.

“Sure, you! You don’t have to ask and why aren’t you at class?” I asked her with a motherly tone. I pushed her with me to the direction of the stairs. “Come on, fancy eating at the canteen?”

“I woke up late Mum, so I didn’t attend the class.” She replied as she rolled her eyes at me and we both giggled. “Can we grab rice in a box instead? I wanted to talk to you about something, my treat!” she announced giddily.

“No problem and I think that’s better. What’s it you want to talk about anyway?” I asked curiously as we started heading down the stairs.

“Nothing for you to be worried about!”

“You won’t be treating me lunch if this thing we’re gonna talk about is ‘nothing’.” I told her as I rolled my eyes. I just know with the looks of her face that there’s something she wanted to talk about. And like duh her, treating me for lunch? This happens once in a blue moon!

“Don’t read me Lou! I wanted to tell you something later. Patience!” she slapped my arm lightly as I nodded in agreement and we both giggled.

We walked outside the uni as I linked my arm with hers talking about me submitting my requirements on time and being exempted for the finals as we went straight to the RBX (Rice in a BoX) food stall. The stall provided several tables and chair for their customers. Ness let me sat for her to order our food. I drummed my fingers on the table waiting for her to come back as I heard my tummy grumble hungrily.
