Chapter 19
“Okay, then we shall start! There had been slight changes about the Ball Excursion. It’s both of a good and a bad news. So which would you all want to hear first?” Dean Spencer said as the students started to chatter loudly not having the same likes what should be heard first. “Silence students!” after Dean Spencer’s ordering voice echoed the auditorium, everyone went silent. “Okay, it was wrong for me to ask since I expected that everyone won’t have similar point of views. So let me just start this meeting with the bad news. The bad news are: first, our reserved rides for the dates of twenty-seventh and twenty eighth of October is not possible.” The students groaned and started to chat again as Dean Spencer silenced them again. ”The bus companies were united for some activities that almost half of the bus company here in our city won’t be having free slots for overnight excursions such as ours.
“Second, our reservations for the resort lacked available rooms.” Again the students groaned louder than the first one with the babbling only ended the same as before being silenced by the dean. ”They miscounted. And since we don’t want you, our dear students to cram in a room like canned sardines, we decided to move the dates wherein it’ll be more flexible for the bus company and the resort. There will be no harm in changing the dates so here’s our good news. I know all of you are excited about this ball excursion in order for you to know and socialize with your new friends.” Now, the students started to babble again but this time excitedly unlike before. But once Dean Spencer started talking again, they automatically shut their mouths. “We still have the same venue which will be at Plantation Bay Resort. The dates will be on September twenty-seven and twenty eight.
“It’s a month earlier than planned. We know that it’s a very short notice for your parents, but at the end of this meeting, Ms. Victoria together with my secretary and your other professors will be handing you announcements and waivers for your parents.-“ after that, my mind flew away from the meeting as Ness nudged me catching my attention.
“Can you believe it? Tomorrow’s September first already! Oh my gosh! I’m so excited about this! We must look for our dress ASAP!” Ness squealed excitedly as she traded places with Jayden so that he’s now talking with the guys. “I mean isn’t that the best thing ever! We will swim during the day and party on the night! It’s time to P-A-R-T-Y, parteh!” Ness excitedly babbled.
I don’t know what to say. It seemed like everything’s passing so fast that I can’t grab which is reality and which was not. I wasn’t paying attention to neither Dean Spencer nor Ness. I was in my own little world thinking of all the things that were about to happen. I’m still tutoring Jayden, we’re now dating, I have to hide this for now with Aunt Faye and Uncle George, I have to make better lies, I have to keep up with my academics and I have to find the perfect dress. I have lots of things to think about and it was a good thing that I wasn’t forced to be in student body to help in organizing this excursion.
I heard someone calling me as I left my thoughts and glanced on my left. I heard Dean Spencer now talking about some rules that must be followed while at the excursion. “Sweetie pie, are you okay?” Jayden asked me as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” I replied and smiled at him.
“Mainly because you’re silent and you know you can’t lie to me sweetie pie.” He smiled back but eyes piercing mine.
“Maybe I’m just hungry and tired.” I reasoned averting my gaze from him.
“You want me to grab you something?” he offered with concern.
