Chapter 25

“Leave when I reached the exit, okay? They won’t notice you anymore.” he said so fast that made my heart race faster. He kissed the side of my head and glanced at the side of a crate where two guys with huge muscles, were guarding our only way out.

“No! I won’t leave you here!” I shouted and gripped his hands with mine. I didn’t care if it was too tight that it hurt him. I didn’t even care if my hands were sweaty because of the intensity of what was about to happen. My chest was pounding really fast and I felt my breathing going fast as well.

“Luthien, you have to get out of here. I won’t drag you further in this mess.”

“I won’t leave you!” I protested.

“Please?” he kissed my lips tenderly while cupping both of my cheeks. My arms automatically wrapped around his neck and my lips trembled with how he made me feel. It was like it’ll be our last kiss. I whimpered on his lips knowing that this was it. We had to team up for this. I felt his thumb stroked my cheeks softly. It surprised me that it was damp from the tears I had released. Was this goodbye? Will we survive this moment? He pulled away from my lips as he stared in my eyes. His eyes brought mixed emotions of being scared yet brave, regretful yet happy, lust with tenderness and sorrow with love. “Luthien, we have to do this. Please.” He begged, his voice thick.

“Is this the only way?” I croaked.

He nodded. “Yes. We’ll do it as planned. Don’t run back if something came up, alright?”

He was dead serious. He planned this which I was totally against. But this was our only escape. “Alright.” I nodded.

He smiled at me his real smile and hugged the life out of me. After the hug, he kissed me roughly making me moan softly on how good he tasted on my lips. He pulled away and pecked my lips softly. He started to walk as I pulled him back to me. His eyebrows raised because of surprise, “I love you.” I told him and pecked on his lips softly. If this was our last I had to let him know how I feel about him.

He grinned and kissed me back lasting for about five seconds. “I love you too sweetie pie.” Then he released my hand and he faced his back on me. I felt my tears ran down my cheeks to my neck. It was uncontrollable. It was as if this was the last moment I’ll have with Jayden.

I watched silently as he conversed with the beefy guys. He was doing good and when he did the signal for me to walk away, I did. I silently walked behind the crates as I get nearer and nearer the exit. Come on, one more crate then I’m out of here and I’d be able to get someone to help us! I motivated myself. I was about to jump out when I heard something crashing on some of the crates.

I glanced back from where he was. My eyes went wide as I saw him trying to get up from the crash. The crate was broken and there were planks littered all over the floor. The other guy with an old rusty pipe hit him on his right shoulder making him groan. He bent down with one knee and held on to his injured shoulder. My heart clenched seeing him hurt. I needed to help him. I needed to go back though he told me to never go back but my feet were already moving in its own back to where he was. I didn’t have control on my body as I walked back into the old building picking a crow bar on my way.

“Hey!” I shouted as the guy with the pipe glanced at me stopping midair. I sighed thankfully knowing he wouldn’t smash his head, yet.

“Go! Now!” Jayden shouted but I didn’t even move an inch and kept on glaring at the men. The guy who was now holding Jayden’s arm at his back grinned and pushed Jayden to my direction.

“Well, this would look good.” He said.

Jayden ran beside me as he wrapped an arm on my waist possessively. “You’re really stubborn aren’t you?”
