Chapter 23: I'll do anything

Chapter 23

*Jayden POV*

“Sit down for a moment and relax. The lab results will be out soon.” I calmed my girl as I guided her to one of the old couches of the hospital’s waiting room. “Let me just grab some hot cocoa, alright?”

My girl nodded her small head and whispered “Alright.”

I kissed her forehead comfortingly and walked to the vending machine I just saw near the exit of the hospital. I slipped in some coins and waited for the machine to give me the drinks.

After what happened with Luthien and her uncle, I couldn’t shake the thought in her head of being guilty. She cooled down an hour inside their house and dropped all her shopping bags in her room. I comforted her and stayed silent the whole time we were there. Then, she changed her clothes and begged for me to take her here at the hospital. Since I can’t even resist her, I borrowed Blake’s Mazda so that it will be convenient for her. She was in a lot of stress today and I didn’t want the motorcycle ride to add into it. My thoughts were interrupted once I heard people talking.

“No. This doesn’t need to happen again.” I heard a lady’s voice said sternly.

“But I don’t want you to get hurt all over again. I know you tried to talk to your aunt and this…happened.” the guy replied exasperatedly.

I never wanted to eves drop but their voices were just loud enough for me to hear. I was waiting for the drinks you know and it was really not my intention to hear the conversation.

“Go home. I’ll call you as soon as we get the result.” The girl ordered.

“Okay, but please. Spare this night and just relax. Okay?” the guy sounded desperate and continued. “I love you more than anything else in this world Ireth and I will do whatever it takes for you to be bind with me.”

Woah. Wait. Bind? Was he talking about being tied up like marriage? And did he say Ireth? Isn’t she Luthien’s older sister? As soon as I heard them parting ways and heard someone walking closer I grabbed the hot cocoas in my hand and ran back to the waiting room.

When I was back at the waiting room I was about to offer Luthien her drink but I saw her peacefully asleep on the couch. Maybe I’ll just get her a new one once she woke up. Her face was so angelic and relaxed that I didn’t want to interrupt her sleep. She needed that after a tough day.

 Her uncle was not here so I thought that it might be fine to stay. Ireth just arrived though and she didn’t look any better. Her face was so stoic and expressionless. I can feel in her moves that she was tensed but her facial expression had nothing to give off. I just couldn’t read her face.

Ireth didn’t notice me at first so I stayed quiet seating beside my girl. I heard her murmur something so I removed my bonnet and placed it softly on her head the same with my hoody on her petite form. I kissed her forehead and whispered goodnight in her ears. I pulled back abruptly once I heard someone clearing her throat.

“Who are you?” she asked still with an expressionless face.

I glanced and glad that it was only Ireth. If it was their uncle I didn’t know if I can held back myself from telling him everything that I wanted him to know. “Uhm… I’m Jayden Owen, Luthien’s boyfriend.” I said with manners and offered a hand to shake.

Ireth showed the first expression of her face with a smile and ran a hand through her hair. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know you looked like this.” She smiled apologetically gesturing to me.” I’m Ireth. Lou’s older sister.”
