Some things on the Octopod have names that don't represent what they actually are, and it can be a bit amusing from time to time.

For example, Launch Bay shifts aren't exactly shifts of working in the Launch Bay, but babysitting Kwazii to make sure he doesn't break anything important (they can sacrifice a few vases).

Pest Control does not actually involve ridding the Octopod of any pests, but actually, 'Pest Control' is the name the adults gave to the process of getting the kids bathed and into bed.

'Code Yellow' on the Octopod does not refer to a semi-urgent problem, but instead is the girls' code for "Some nasty boy (I have my suspicions who) missed while going to the bathroom. How much money do we have in the 'separate bathroom piggy bank?'.

'The Saw' is a joke name given to the pair of safety scissors used for haircuts and for trimming whatever it is the Vegimals have on their heads. When Kwazii mistakenly called it 'The Saw' in front of the Vegimals, they all refused to have any leaf-cuts for the five months.

Dashi and Tweak have a whole language for what they're going to watch on their special movie night to avoid anyone else wanting to watch it with them because its THEIR special movie night. Basically, they just say, "(Insert boring movie/musical Inkling likes here)'s gonna be on TV tonight." And since Inkling doesn't know how to work the TV, they've never been caught.
