There are things that everyone says about each other in the Octonauts "family" that seem like they're exaggerating, but in reality, they really aren't.
Such as when Tweak declared that Kwazii is so stupid he can't even find his own tail in a mirror (This is true. She tested it out and everything.)
When anyone says Shellington is so clumsy, he even trips over thin air, they know it's not a lie. Everyone has seen him fall over nothing at least once.
Saying Peso and Dashi are too nice for their own good is sort of an understatement at this point. Peso's the only one who's willing to put up with a sugared-up Kwazii, Dashi insists on giving everyone 30 hugs per day, and both of them physically cannot be angry with anyone for more than three seconds.
Everyone thought Pinto was exaggerating a bit when he said Tweak hates Kwazii so much, she retches at the sound of his name. She did actually retch at the sound of Kwazii's name, but it was only to prove her point to Dashi that he was disgusting.
All of the kids have sworn they weren't exaggerating at some point, and they were always right, such as when all of them insisted Inkling's so old he was alive before Elizabeth became Queen.
The baby Vegimals have exaggerated thousands of times just to tell their crew members how amazing they are, such as them telling Kwazii, "You're so brave you could fight a million spiders." (Contrary to what Kwazii said, he cried when he heard that).
Saying that the Vegimals are so small, the Captain could lift them all up at once would not be exaggerating. It has happened before.
