Part 10. Fall

Sara's P.O.V

"I know exactly how we can cheer you up." I winked at Rosie.

Rosie looked at me with a puzzled expression on her face and I could feel Luke's beautiful, big blue eyes staring at me.

"Shopping at the mall! Duh!" I exclaimed happily.

Immediately Rosie's grey eyes lit up and finally, a sense of happiness on her face. But on the other hand, I looked over to my right to find Luke groaning.

"Is there a problem?" I smirked at his direction.

"I hate shopping with girls." he moaned and faked a gagging sound.

"Shut up." Rosie sang as she shot up on her feet and rushed to my direction giving me a big, warm unexpected hug.

"You have to get changed though." I whispered to Rosie and I could feel her sigh.

*1 hour later at the mall*

Rosie's P.O.V

We are currently out of that dreadful apartment and we are in my favorite shop, Forever 21!

"Rosie" Luke forced a smile.

"What?" I sang happily as I snatched a gorgeous black skater dress off of the hanger and rushed towards the dressing room.

"I need to talk to you about something." he whispered and looked around.

"What are you looking at?" I asked puzzled and followed his searching eyes.

"I don't want Sara to hear." he continued.

"Oh." I sighed and I instantly knew what he wanted to talk about.

"Sure." I nodded and forced a fake smile.

"Can we go talk ... now?" he rushed.

I nodded slowly and dropped all of the clothes that I was carrying in my hands and followed him to a quiet corner of the shop where Sara would not find us.

"Sara told me that ... well ... she .... she told me that she loves me." he finally blurted and all I could do was stare at his sad blue eyes.

"And whats wrong about that?" I asked puzzled.

"She's your best friend Rosie." he lowered his head and looked away.

"So?" I asked.

"I like her but-" he stuttered, unsure of what to say next.

"Luke, I get it. You like her but you clearly don't want to get hurt but, that's life. You are going to get hurt and if you live a life without pain or disappointment, then, that's not life." I explained.

"Guys, I've been looking all around for you two!" Sara ran to us, panting out of breath.

"Can we leave?" Luke asked quietly.

I looked at Luke and I could tell he was sad. He was terrified. He's been hurt before by a stupid bitch who cheated on him with his best friend.

Sara nodded.

"Are you okay?" She asked Luke.

"I am now." Luke forced a smile and unexpectedly held her hand. Their fingers then intertwined and she looked at him and smiled.
